Superhero - Part One<div>
*I know, it's been like 5,000 years & this is only short :( I'm sorry but I hope this is okay for you guys...or whoever still reads. :/*<br />
<br /></div>
"So, what the hell even happened? She's a damn wreck up there."<br />
<br />
"They just had another one of their tiffs." Jelani rubbed his head as he sat at the table. "You know how they are, I just wanted to check she made it home. She wasn't answering my calls."<br />
<br />
"She's upstairs feedin' Mica. She ain't say much when she got back, just that she'd had an argument." Max joined his brother-in-law and sat down. "So, what were they fightin' about this time?"<br />
<br />
"Just Nic gettin' caught up in her own lies again."<br />
<br />
"Lies?" Max raised his brow questioningly as his thoughts began to spiral. "What was she lyin' about?"<br />
<br />
"She told Mom she was workin' tonight, but me and Kels drove by on the way. The restaurant was closed."<br />
<br />
Max's mind ceased all thought for a spilt second before it began to reel. That meant that she'd been lying to him all day too. On top of all the other lies she was feeding him. Jelani was right, she was caught up in a viscous web of deceit.<br />
<br />
"Max?" Jay's voice brought him back to the moment.<br />
<br />
"Sorry, what?"<br />
<br />
"I asked if you knew where she was at tonight? Havin' somethin' to tell my Mom will ease her mind a little. Underneath all that anger she's really just worried, I know Nic ain't seein' it that way but that's what it is."<br />
<br />
"Yeah, I get it." He smiled sympathetically. "But she was with me all night."<br />
<br />
Jelani's face scrunched up immediately. "What?"<br />
<br />
"Yeah, I surprised her with dinner reservations but she felt guilty droppin' Mica off on your Mom without good reason. So she said she was workin'." He forced a guilty smile. "Look, this is one huge, big mess and it's all my fault. We shoulda just been up front, I ain't mean no harm."<br />
<br />
"Oh." Jelani's face relaxed, the relief was beyond obvious. "Man, you caused a shit-load of trouble tonight but you have no idea how glad I am to hear that."<br />
<br />
"Could you let Carol know I'm sorry? I'll explain to Nic and they can sort this out tomorrow when they've both cooled off a little."<br />
<br />
"Sure, I'll let her know." He smiled with relief. "And thanks again, man. I was really worried about her." He paused briefly as his face saddened. "I'll never forget that night I found her the way she was, I'ont ever wanna be in that situation again." Standing up slowly he tucked his chair back in and threw his hat back on his head. "But anyway, I'll get outta your way. Let her know I came askin' 'bout her too, she needs to know we care about her."<br />
<br />
"Of course." He smiled led his brother-in-law to the front door and watched him leave in his car before grabbing his own keys and heading out. He'd had enough of her lies.<br />
<br />
~<br />
<br />
Looking down at Mica as he fed she couldn't believe how well she'd kept this lie covered up. Every one of his features screamed "Drake". His eyes, his mouth, his everything. Although it wasn't so hard since Max and Drake did share an uncanny resemblance it made it that much easier to keep the lie alive, they looked like brothers. She felt guilty at first but what else was she supposed to do? Sabotage her marriage and tell the truth? Her past halted her from doing that. There was no way she wanted to go back to the way she was, especially not now that she had Mica. The cushy married life gave her stability, although she wasn't ecstatically happy she was appreciative of the fact the she and Mica were healthy and were never in need of anything. Drake however couldn't offer her that same sort of support and that's what scared her so much. He could make her happy though.<br />
<br />
Returning her gaze to the window she frowned after hearing a car leave followed by another one after a couple of minutes. She'd heard her brother's voice earlier and already assumed he'd left but who else was here to follow his departure? Relaxing her face slowly she was only now just aware of how tight her skin had become with all the tears she'd shed. She was just thankful Mica had dozed off and she could return him back to his crib and finally wash the tears away with a second shower. As she headed to his room she noticed the silence filling the house. It was times like these she hated having such a large home. Even with Max here she still felt an element of fear in terms of how unsafe it was. After laying her baby down she pulled his door closed a little and proceeded to head downstairs in search of her husband. He was nowhere to be found. Calling out for him three times she checked every room before glancing at the key hooks. His car keys were missing.<br />
<br />
"Max?" Looking into the dark garage she frowned when the lights flickered on and his car wasn't there. "The hell has he gone now?" Not having enough energy to care she shook her head and knocked the lights off before shutting the door and heading back upstairs to shower. She was ready to just lay in bed and sleep for an eternity. As well as the hurt, her anger was still very much present. Not only towards her Mother but Drake too. She'd called him 6 times and even left voicemail messages but he hadn't even bothered to get back to her. She thought he would have at least sent her a text after hearing how distraught she sounded in the messages but she'd heard nothing from him.<br />
<br />
~<br />
<br />
"So, what's different now?" She cocked her brow with a hint of annoyance and attitude. Drake had called her the previous day and organised a taping session with his other "co-star" but forgotten to cancel when Nicki came over.<br />
<br />
"Please, Tegan. I'm just not in the mood to deal with any bullshit right now." Moving to shut the door in her face, her small hand stopped him.<br />
<br />
"You have some fuckin' nerve callin' me out like this, Drake. YOU called me, remember?" She rested back on one foot as her bangled wrists clattered against one another when she crossed her arms.<br />
<br />
"And I apologize for messin' you around, now I wanna get some sleep so goodnight." Successfully shutting her out this time her slid the chain across the door and rested against it whilst sighing. He could both feel and hear her pound the door angrily before walking off and cussing him out. Her vocals faded as she reached her car and sped off. He felt a twinge of regret for treating her that way but they both knew what they had was just sex. No strings attached, but treating her like that was uncalled for.<br />
<br />
It was only after Nicki had left he realised it was never going to change. He'd had a solid few hours of thought after she'd gone. No matter how many times she promised to make a decision, he knew deep down she was too afraid to. Not that he could blame her for feeling apprehensive, she had a lot to lose whereas he didn't but he was growing frustrated with the situation. He loved her and she loved him. Wasn't that all that mattered? He scratched his head as he yawned and gathered the dirty plates from his lounge room. His phone was vibrating constantly on the TV unit but as always it would be the same old story. Nicki messaging him to say when and when not to call her and thanking him for his attention. Balancing the dishes in his grasp he stared at his cell until it stopped buzzing. A part of him was desperate to check the messages and answer this call but another part of him wanted to just ignore her same old excuses and just retire for the night. And that's exactly what he did.<br />
<br />
Back in her quiet and lonely mansion, she was sat biting her lip worriedly. Her frown increasing when he didn't pick up for the seventh time. He always answered her calls. Sitting in silence, the empty space around her in the bed made her look even smaller and more vulnerable than ever. She had no idea where Max had vanished to either, but it only infuriated her even more when she realised that she was used to him disappearing on her. That didn't signify a normal marriage. She was no marriage expert but she was definitely certain that the way he treated her and Mica wasn't what one would call the perfect father or husband. Feeling the sadness washing over her again she placed her phone on the nightstand and moved Mica's baby monitor closer to her head before turning the lamp off and settling into the sheets. The silence around her emphasised the loneliness she was trapped in.<br />
<br />
This was the lowest she'd felt in a long time.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The next Morning, Drake was hit with a bunch of missed calls and messages from the night before.<br />
<br />
<b>"Can you please call me back when you get this? I need to talk to you." </b><br />
<b><br /></b>He grimaced listening to her sobs as she spoke. His conscience was screaming at him for ignoring her calls and messages last night. By the sounds of it she was completely heartbroken. About what? He had no idea but she needed him there and he ignored her.<br />
<br />
Setting his slice of toast down he glanced at the clock before opening the next one. It was 8:40am.<br />
<br />
<b>"Aye, Drake I'on wanna bother you so late but Nic's got herself into a state and she ain't answerin' my calls. I'ma head over to hers now but could you call her please? I know she'll listen to you. A'ight, thanks."</b><br />
<b><br /></b>Now his heart really was pounding. Something must have happened last night. Not bothering to finish his coffee he grabbed his jacket and keys before heading out. His mind was focused primarily on getting there as fast as he could but he couldn't stop all the random thoughts popping into his mind. Most of them being scenarios surrounding the events he missed last night. He had an inkling it was something to do with Carol and Nicki but he wouldn't know for sure until he got there.<br />
<br />
When he finally did roll up their driveway he parked his car in front of the garage and headed to the front door. After knocking and waiting twice he tried the handle and let himself into the quiet house. There was something eerily off about the atmosphere.<br />
<br />
He called her name and proceeded to check all the downstairs rooms, including the garage. Standing still in the doorway he noticed her car was still there, Max's wasn't though. Maybe they went out together? He frowned, that didn't explain why the door was left open. Shutting the door again he headed back into the kitchen and shouted her again before a note on the side caught his attention. Picking it up slowly, he read it aloud.<br />
<br />
"Taken Mica out to the office, I didn't want to wake you. Sorry about our day, we can do it tomorrow I promise. Call me as soon as you're up." The tiny note was finished with an unfeeling and insincere "Max" followed by an "x". He shook his head and placed the scrap of paper down. So, Nicki was home and if the night's events were in any way related to a verbal altercation between Carol and Nicki, he knew she'd be upstairs wallowing. He headed back towards the stairway and called her name again, this time more quietly. "Nic? You up there?"<br />
<br />
Only silence met his ears, the apprehension he felt was becoming more obvious as the seconds ticked by. He didn't know how long ago Max had left, or when he would be home, but the strange atmosphere and abundance of missed calls and messages last night had him worried. Throwing his doubts to the side, he began climbing the stairs slowly before stopping when he reached the second floor hallway. Mica's room was unoccupied as he'd suspected, so he made his way towards the master bedroom and knocked politely.<br />
<br />
"Nicki?" The familiar sound of silence was still lingering, he knew she would be sleeping but he wanted to know that she was definitely in there and that she wasn't too upset. He turned the handle slowly and quietly before pushing it open, to his surprise the bed was unoccupied. It wasn't made up or tidy as it usually would be, which made him think she'd only just got up. "Nicki, you in the bathroom?" Heading over towards the bathroom door, he pulled his gaze away from the bed and looked at the door handle. It wasn't shut all the way and he could hear the faint sound of running water, it was too quiet to be the shower. "Nic, can I come in?" He waited patiently, not really expecting an answer. The likelihood of her being angry with him for ignoring her calls last night was very high. "Look, I know you're mad but please, talk to me. I'm worried about you." He paused again. "What happened last night?"<br />
<br />
After another 10 seconds of agonising silence, he lost his patience. Pushing the door open forcefully as he began speaking. "Can you please answer me?" What started off as harsh words soon trailed off into nothing as shock and panic began to kick in.<br />
<br />
<br />
***<br />
<br />
His leg hadn't stopped bouncing for the last half hour, his mind racing as he kept his head rested in his hands. The image of her laying on the floor wouldn't leave his eyes and his conscience was screaming at him for having ignored her pleas last night. He could have stopped all of this.<br />
<br />
"Where is she?" The stern voiced was laced with love and concern as it fast approached but that didn't match the look on her face. It was Carol, the last person he wanted to see right now. Nevertheless, he stood and let her take the only free seat. They were at the hospital, waiting for the others to arrive.<br />
<br />
"They're still....workin' on her." His voice was hoarse. Anybody could see he was falling apart right now. Trying desperately to hold it together. "I don't know how long they'll be." Glancing down he stepped back and leant against the wall behind him.<br />
<br />
"Working on her?" The little voice that escaped her lips was small and quivery making him look at her apologetically. She had tears balanced on her bottom lid, ready to fall with what he was about to tell her. Deep down she knew though, it didn't need to be explained. "It's all my fault."<br />
<br />
"No, Carol." He jumped forward to rest in front of her as soon as she began to sob. "It's nobody's fault. You can't put that sort of blame on yourself, no matter what happened last night."<br />
<br />
"That poor baby."<br />
<br />
"What?"<br />
<br />
"My grandson, where is he?" The moment those words left her mouth he raised to his feet in bewilderment. Where was the concern for her daughter? She was merely a few feet away from her lifeless body as they tried to bring her back to life and she couldn't give a shit.<br />
<br />
"Carol, you do understand what's going on right now don't you?" The wrinkle in his brow relaxed as he attempted to stay composed.<br />
<br />
She snorted. "Of course I do. As always, Onika has tossed aside her care for anybody else but herself. They're all the same, addicts." The look on her face was one of pure disgust. "They don't care about anyone but themselves. As long as they're good, nothing else matters." She was spitting venom in the most heartless way. These were words he honestly never thought he'd hear being uttered by this woman before him.<br />
<br />
"That's not true and you know it." His breathing hardened, he was feeling a mixture of undesirable feelings all at once. The guilt, anger and grief all threatened to consume him before her voice sounded out again.<br />
<br />
"Stand by her all you want, I don't care. As soon as Max gets here I'm taking Mica back with me. She's not fit to be a mother." Those words hit him hard, why was she acting so coldly?<br />
<br />
"You're daughter is laying in there fighting for her life!"<br />
<br />
"Life?" She scoffed. "She's nothing but an empty shell in our lives, just getting by. Waiting for her next fix." There was a hint of sadness starting to show. "The person behind those doors is not my daughter."<br />
<br />
"She needs help, Carol. You can't just give up on her! Mica needs his Mother, you can't take her away from him."<br />
<br />
"And what do you think you are? Hm?" She stood up. "The superhero in this messed up story?" Shaking her head angrily she moved closer to his tensed up frame. "You only ever helped her to get as bad as she did. You encouraged her, whether it was conscious or not you made her this way. You've done this to her."<br />
<br />
The iciness of her words washed over him like a cold wave of hatred. He couldn't speak or move as he watched her step back again.<br />
<br />
"Tell her I don't wanna hear from her until she's cleaned herself up. And as for seeing Mica? I decide if and when she can, I don't want him anywhere near her when she's like this." She threw her bag over her shoulder.<br />
<br />
"What is this? Some sort of tough love method?" His face screwed up harshly, he was struggling to contain his anger. "She needs our help and support! Not some sort of punishment!" No matter how loud his yells were, the sentences seemed to glide over her head. However unfazed she appeared there was a single tear that managed to escape.<br />
<br />
"I'll send Max in when he gets here, I'll be waiting outside."<br />
<br />
He couldn't muster the energy or the courage to call her back as she walked away. She was right. Slumping back into the seat he exhaled shakily. This was all his fault. It started off as innocent experimentation when they were teens but somehow became a hobby for him and a crutch for her. Of course, she always had the opportunity to say "no" to drugs but with his encouragement it didn't take a lot of persuading. They were just having fun but none of it seemed fun at all right now. His memories carried on haunting him, both from the past and earlier today. He never thought he'd eve have to perform CPR on anyone. Especially not on her. His fists were balled, he could only feel anger towards himself.<br />
<br />
"Drake?" The out of breath voice startled him. It was Max. "The hell happened? I came as soon as I got your message, please tell me she's she okay?"<br />
<br />
"I don't know, I don't know what's happening. Nobody's tellin' me anythin'." He sighed frustratedly.<br />
<br />
"But you gotta know somethin'!" His yells echoed through Drake's hurting head.<br />
<br />
He snatched Max's arm and pulled him forward. "I found her in the bathroom, Max! She fuckin' overdosed!"<br />
<br />
<br />

*It's only short, but the second part won't be far away :) Thanku to those who commented on the previous chapter :) I hope this was okay for you guys :/*CarleeBabyyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04000886827397821211noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8031071863208506385.post-9425458954534464562013-06-21T23:52:00.000+09:302013-06-21T23:56:18.372+09:308. Snowball Effect*Okay...So, I'm hoping to bring a little bit of drama to this fic in this chapter lol I just hope it's okay! :) I reeeaallly suck at writing more mature scenes lol it was probably a dumb decision to write a fic centred around this idea tbh -.- But oh well, I apologise if it was shit! Thanku so much for the comments on chapter 7!! :D*<br />
<br />
Their taping was still in session. He'd started out with a feeling of urgency which, somehow turned into more of a passionate lovemaking scene rather than what he was aiming for. He didn't rush it though. Instead he took his time, showing her his love and making her feel the way she deserved to feel. The way Max could never make her feel. That being said, he did need to get the right footage for his tape. Thus, round two commenced after they'd laid side by side lovingly for an hour or so. Just exchanging kisses and uttering sweet sentences to one another. Things got a little more rough this time, something he knew she liked on the low.<br />
<br />
Keeping the speed of his movement at a constant and steady pace, he continued to stroke in and out of her as she received each one of his thrusts with a throaty groan. He could feel the vibration of her grunts travel through his hand as he kept it wrapped securely around her neck. Her pulse quickening as her climax neared. He was being more rough than usual and feeling his body weight pressed firmly on to her back as his grip on her throat grew tighter was turning her on. The air being crushed out of her lungs whilst she lay on her front.<br />
<br />
"Fuck. Oh God, Aubrey I'm gonna cum." Her words were only just breathed out with a struggle, his pace getting faster upon feeling her walls tighten around him.<br />
<br />
"Cum with me." He was going deeper and harder than before, causing her face to scrunch up partly with pleasure and partly with pain. She was quiet for only a few seconds, the left side of her face being suffocated by the bed sheets. She could hear his groans of pleasure and her silence soon diminished when her body was thrown into a moment of pure bliss as she came. Her broken, high-pitched cries finished him off as he balled her hair up into his fist, pulling her head up as he filled her with his deposit. Her fifth and final orgasm still affecting her as he collapsed lightly on her back. His mouth was next to her right ear, his left hand now only lightly wrapped around her neck as she panted out in recovery. She could feel his heart beating rapidly through her back whilst he placed light kisses on her neck just below her lobe.<br />
<br />
They stayed where they were for a while. Trying to regain enough energy to even speak. Finally feeling as though she needed air she shifted a little, telling him to move. He pulled out gently and lay next to her as she rolled on to her back. She looked completely spent.<br />
<br />
"You okay?" His voice was rattly.<br />
<br />
"Yeah." She smiled and nodded before grabbing his hand gently. "I'm fine, I just can't be assed gettin' up and goin' home now." Sighing miserably she rolled on to her side and studied their connected hands.<br />
<br />
"I'ont want you to go either." He ran a finger over her flushed cheek. "But you wanna see Mica."<br />
<br />
"Oh shit." She sat up quickly as she was reminded. "What time is it? I'm supposed to be on my way to my Mom's now." Flying off of the bed she started collecting her clothes in a hurry.<br />
<br />
"I'll go start the shower." He stood up and started heading towards the bathroom.<br />
<br />
"I don't have time, she's gonna start askin' questions." Looking flustered she started throwing her clothes on.<br />
<br />
"What, so you're gonna go home to Max smellin' like another man? It'll take five minutes to rinse yourself off." He reasoned.<br />
<br />
He was right and she knew it. Without another word she hopped in the shower and rinsed thoroughly before drying and re-dressing again.<br />
<br />
"I'll call you-"<br />
<br />
"No don't, I'll call you." She was talking, walking and pulling her coat on as she neared the front door. She was almost half an hour later than she'd told her Mom. Feeling his hand on her forearm she turned around to start talking irritably but he kissed her before she even got chance. It was one if those kisses that made her feel weak at the knees. One that was begging her to stay when she knew she couldn't.<br />
<br />
Breaking the kiss he pulled back and wiped his thumb over her lips. "I love you."<br />
<br />
"I love you too." They just stared for a few seconds before she was snatched back to the cruel reality of life and stepped away, shutting the door quietly behind herself. She really couldn't keep doing this and it became even more evident as to why when she reached her Mom's house.<br />
<br />
***<br />
<br />
"Do you want something to eat before you go home?" Carol smiled warmly, trying to hide her growing concern.<br />
<br />
"No thanks, I gotta get back."<br />
<br />
"But Lani and Kelise are here, you don't stay for a while?"<br />
<br />
"Mommy, honestly, I'm really tired I need to get Mica home and fed." She wrinkled her brow apologetically. "But this weekend is free, maybe we could come over for dinner?"<br />
<br />
"That's a great idea and of course, I understand. I bet work was tiring." She folded the dish cloth in her hands. "You have a busy night tonight?"<br />
<br />
Upon hearing that question Jelani stalled in the hallway, not wanting to walk in on a possible argument. Instead he stayed put, listening intently to their conversation. Nicki was lying through her teeth and he knew his Mother would begin to ask questions and make her feel on the spot. That always led to an explosive confrontation. Especially on Nicki's part.<br />
<br />
"Yeah, yeah it was pretty full on." She nodded whilst avoiding eye contact.<br />
<br />
"I'll bet." She chuckled. "You look exhausted."<br />
<br />
"Mhm, I was rushed off my feet." Rubbing the back of her neck guiltily she was about to speak again but Carol beat her to it. Her voice was more accusative this time.<br />
<br />
"You do know the restaurant was shut tonight, don't you?"<br />
<br />
Her body froze and her mouth went dry. How the hell was she supposed to answer that? And she knew this was just the start. There was absolutely no trust in their relationship any more. They both felt it but mostly Nicki. There was this overwhelming sense of shame that hung over her like a cloud whenever her Mother was around and it bothered her deeply.<br />
<br />
"W-what are you talkin' about? It's always busy on Fridays." She shook her head and tried to laugh it off but her lies were all catching up to her and fast.<br />
<br />
"Onika, don't you dare stand there and lie to my face." She snarled and threw the cloth back into the sink. "Jelani told me. He said there was a shortage of kitchen staff, the place was closed for the night." Pausing for a second she moved closer to her daughter. "Why are you lying to me, Onika? Where were you, really?"<br />
<br />
This was it. She could feel the years of pent up anger and unspoken feelings trying to pry their way out. The amount of blame, embarrassment and disappointment her Mother threw at her was damaging and now it was all coming to a head. Her lip curled with anger before she spoke. "I am not bout to stand here and be interrogated like I'm some sort of-"<br />
<br />
"Some sort of what?" Her eyes widened as she cut her daughter off mid-sentence. "Some sort of criminal? A drug addict?!"<br />
<br />
"Recovering." She corrected her quickly, trying to remain calm but she could feel herself getting more and more worked up. "I'm a recovering addict, Mom."<br />
<br />
She scoffed. "Once an addict, always an addict. You're going to be recovering for the rest of your life."<br />
<br />
"Why are you always doing this to me?!" She yelled. "I've been clean for over a year, yet one thing happens that ain't even drug -related and you start firin' all this shit at me like ammo you've had stored up all these months!" Hitting her hand repeatedly against her other palm she felt the tears surfacing. "You always make me feel about this big!" Stepping closer to her Mother she motioned with her fingers. "Let me live in the present! Stop rakin' all this bullshit up from the past every time you've lost tabs on where I am and what I'm doing!"<br />
<br />
On the other side of the door, Jelani could hear how upset she was becoming. He knew she was crying but that wouldn't stop his Mother. Sometimes they were one and the same. She would carry on like a machine until she got to the bottom of her daughter's whereabouts this evening. Whether Nicki was sobbing her heart out or not.<br />
<br />
"It's going to take a lot longer than a few months to gain back our trust, Onika. Especially since it's not just you we're thinking about now." She stopped before speaking again more loudly. "There's a child involved in all of this! So, you can either tell me where you were tonight, or we can keep on going in circles like we are now." She shrugged emotionlessly having stated her ultimatum. Honestly, seeing her daughter stood before in such a painful state was heartbreaking but if her suspicions were correct and Nicki was using again, there was no way she was risking it.<br />
<br />
"Y'know what? I'm not gon' stick around and put up with this. Especially not from you." She sniffled hard and tried wipe her tears away. "I thought you trusted me."<br />
<br />
"I did and I do. But when you start lying and hiding things from us is when we start to suspect something is wrong!"<br />
<br />
"What, so I can't have any part of my life be private any more?" She frowned harshly and stared her Mother down. "I suppose I should start spillin' now then. Whattya want to know first? Hm?" She laughed without any trace of humor showing.<br />
<br />
Jelani was cringing with regret on the other side of the door. He wished he'd never opened his mouth now. His sister was hurting beyond words could describe and he could tell by only the cracking of her voice as she cried. It was moments like these which made him desperately worry about her relapsing.<br />
<br />
"Don't be ridiculous, I never said that." Her Mother hissed.<br />
<br />
"But it's what you meant though! You can't know where I am twenty-four seven, Mom! I'm an adult for God's sake!" Finishing off her rage-filled sentence she swiped violently at a glass on the table. Only the smashing could be heard as it made contact with the kitchen tiles. She was shaking with fury before her breathing ceased momentarily once she heard Mica's faint cries.<br />
<br />
"I'm not gonna deal with this every time you question my sobriety! I need for you to trust me! But you don't! I need for you to stop blaming me and making me feel like such a let-down! <b>You're</b> the reason I'm the way that I am!" She shook her head tearfully, shocked at the words she just screamed at her own Mom. She needed to her it though. No doubt about it. All the angst from the last few years was finally surfacing, but she didn't feel better from this venting session. She felt horrible. Even more so when her Mother didn't respond and instead walked slowly over to the dustpan and brush as she started sweeping the glass shards up.<br />
<br />
"Go home Onika."<br />
<br />
"Mom-"<br />
<br />
"No, I don't want to hear your mouth right now. You've made yourself perfectly clear."<br />
<br />
Dropping her hands by her sides defeatedly she folded her lips as she shook. The tears still running down her face. She was petrified of these kind of run-ins with her Mother. The last one had resulted in an almost fatal overdose when she was nineteen. If it wasn't for Jelani finding her she wouldn't even be here right now.<br />
<br />
Pulling the kitchen door open she came face to face with her brother. Not uttering a word she pushed past him as she started crying harder, running up the stairs and straight to the spare room where Mica stayed. He was secured in Kelise's embrace as she tried to soothe him.<br />
<br />
"I don't know what's wrong with him, he won't stop crying." She looked worried. Even more so when she saw the state Nicki was in.<br />
<br />
"He's hungry. I'mma take him home now." She held her arms out to take him but Kelise stayed stationary.<br />
<br />
"Nicki, are you okay?"<br />
<br />
"I'm fine. Just hand me my son so I can take him home, please?" Receiving a look that said "<i>Don't test me"</i> she decided to co-operate. As soon as Mica was in his Mother's arms her familiar scent comforted him and he calmed down almost instantly. Making sure he was secured against her body, she held him with one arm and grabbed his baby bag as she slung it over her shoulder.<br />
<br />
She didn't say another word to Kelise as she stormed back down the stairs, her Mother was still sat solemnly in the kitchen and Jelani was obstructing the front door.<br />
<br />
"Move."<br />
<br />
He held his arms out. "Not until you've calmed down."<br />
<br />
"You got three seconds to move outta my way." Her nostrils flared.<br />
<br />
"You not leavin' until you've simmered down, Nic." He tried to usher her back into the lounge room but his upper arm was met by her small, balled up fist.<br />
<br />
"The fuck outta my way Jelani!"<br />
<br />
The moment her voice and body language became hostile Mica began to squirm as he picked up on the bad energy his Mother was emitting. Jelani moved quickly to avoid being hit again and getting Mica caught between them.<br />
<br />
He wanted to chase after her so badly. The memories of last time this happened still haunted him but he knew chasing her would just make things worse right now. Instead he watched her leave in an absolute state, the front door slamming before him as Kelise stood in shock on the stairs.<br />
<br />
"Jay, what the hell happened?"<br />
<br />
He breathed out slowly. "My Mom is what happened." Hitting the door frame in a moment of heightened temper he yelled out before rubbing his head and face. "I told her to just fuckin' leave it!"<br />
<br />
"Leave what?" She approached him cautiously before resting a soft hand on his tatted arm. "Did somethin' go down with Nicki?"<br />
<br />
He didn't respond and only looked at her sadly before he made his way back to the kitchen. He wanted answers.<br />
<br />
***<br />
<br />
She got home much quicker than she'd anticipated. How she managed to even make it with all the tears stinging at her eyes was a miracle in itself. Just sitting in the parked car once she'd entered the garage she cried for what felt like hours before Mica's grumbles brought her back to the moment. He was probably close to starving by now.<br />
<br />
"Okay, we're goin' in now." She unbuckled herself as she cooed to her baby before getting out and removing him from his car seat. His diaper needed changing too. She tried hard to stop crying but it was as if the barrier was down for good and she couldn't stop. Her mind was completely clouded. Everything that was happening with Drake and now this argument with her Mother, she didn't know what to do or think. Right now she just wanted to lay in bed with her baby boy held close to her. He was the only one not causing her any grief or heartache at the moment.<br />
<br />
Kicking the door shut with her foot she let the baby bag drop to the floor, readjusting Mica in her arms before heading to the stairs.<br />
<br />
"Where've you been?" His deep voice made her jump. He was sat in the lounge-room, drink in hand and face looking stony as hell.<br />
<br />
"Oh my God. Please, not you too." She shook her head, more tears coming loose. "I can't fucking deal with this right now, I'm going to bed."<br />
<br />
"Answer the question, Onika." He leapt from the chair and followed her up the stairs when she ignored him. He wanted a confession and he would go to any length to get one. Nobody made a fool out of him. Especially not his damaged wife and a struggling camera-man with no apparent direction in life. He needed to hear her say it. That's all he wanted.<br />
<br />
"I was working, Max! You already know that!" She immediately regretted yelling when their son started crying again. "Look, I'm tired, I'm fed up and I just wanna go to sleep." Sobbing her sentence out she tried to avoid his gaze before laying Mica on their bed. He didn't say anything and just kept staring at her.<br />
<br />
"Since when did you start clockin' outta work at 12am, Nicki?"<br />
<br />
"I was at my Mom's house for a while." She sniffled and pulled Mica's onsey open as she started undressing him.<br />
<br />
"Y'all had a argument or somethin'?" His voice was softer now, making him less daunting to converse with. He was unpredictable and quite scary at the best of times.<br />
<br />
"An argument? No." She bit her lip attempting to force the tears back as he approached her cautiously, aware of the distress she was in.<br />
<br />
"What then?"<br />
<br />
"It's nothin' I wanna talk about right now Max, please." Finally fixing Mica's clean diaper in place she picked him up and held his naked body to her chest as she moved through to his bedroom. Unfortunately Max was actually paying attention to her for once and followed her through. When he reached the doorway she was putting a sleep suit on him as he lay on his changing table.<br />
<br />
"Doesn't seem like nothin'." He probed.<br />
<br />
"Y'know, Max. Just the usual shit she dishes out to me."<br />
<br />
"Whattya mean?" He stepped into the room, intrigued to hear what she had to say.<br />
<br />
"You know damn well what I mean." There was a long pause whilst he thought.<br />
<br />
"She ask you if you was usin' again?"<br />
<br />
Receiving no response it only took him a second or two to notice her shoulders shuddering as her hand moved up to her face. To say she was completely beside herself with upset was a vast understatement. She was an emotional wreck.<br />
<br />
It only worsened when she felt his strong arms pull her to him, holding her tight as she let it all out. It made her feel like shit. All the betrayal and the sneaking around behind his back yet here he was, comforting her as she had a mini meltdown in his grasp. Don't get him wrong, he hated what she was doing but at the end of the day he did still love her and she was the Mother of his child. Seeing her in such a way was a horrible thing to experience.<br />
<br />
What was lurking around the corner however, would have him riled beyond comparison.<br />
<br />

<br />
*Okay so I reeeaaallly struggled with this chapter because of all the dialogue and the opening scene ._.<br />

Suppressed Fury*First of all I wanna thank you guys sooo much for your comments, I never imagined people would actually like this. So I'm super thankful :) Also I plan on continuing this for a while so there will be drama and other issues cropping up but that's all part of a story, right? Lol anyway, I hope this is alright for you guys.*<br />
<br />
Awaking the next morning, Nicki had half expected it to be still dark outside but instead the sun was shining brightly through her window. Sitting her self up she glanced over at the clock and blinked hard. Surely she must be seeing things. It was almost 10am. The latest Mica ever woke her was 7. She was dead set on flying out of the bed to check on him, but noticing Max's cases she relaxed figuring he was home. After dealing with her morning rituals she headed downstairs and found them in the kitchen. This really was a rare sight. Max cooking whilst Mica lay peacefully in his carrier seat.<br />
<br />
"You got home last night?"<br />
<br />
He jumped hearing her voice. "Yeah, I didn't wanna wake you." Shutting off the noise of the frying pan he lay the eggs and bacon on to two plates before setting them on the kitchen island and embracing her. "I missed you." He kissed on her neck lovingly before meeting her lips with his.<br />
<br />
"I missed you too." Breaking the contact she hit his arm. "But I'm still mad at'chu for leavin' me with a Goddam note, Max."<br />
<br />
"I know, baby. That was an asswipe move, I'm sorry."<br />
<br />
She sighed and moved over to Mica. "You can make it up to me, I'll think of somethin'." Smiling sweetly she began removing Mica from the chair. "Why was he in there?"<br />
<br />
"I had nowhere to put him while I was cookin'. I wanted to make you breakfast in bed. Y'know? To say sorry."<br />
<br />
"I already told you, it's fine. Just don't do it again. I'ont want you runnin' 'round after me all week tryna apologise, Max. That shit gets real annoyin', real fast."<br />
<br />
"A'ight, so let's call this my apology then." Motioning to the plates of food, she stared at them for a second before looking up at him as she tried to comfort Mica since he started to fuss.<br />
<br />
"Sure." She smiled. "I'll just go lay him down."<br />
<br />
"Don't be too long." He sang after her as she left.<br />
<br />
She had no idea why but she couldn't hold back her tears. It was the weirdest sensation since usually something would initiate the crying. But there was nothing. The only thing she could think of was the fact that Max was home and she felt like everything that had happened whilst he was away would disappear. Like a cloud of smoke she wouldn't be able to catch and hold on to forever. Hearing Mica's grouchy grunt, she was pulled back to reality as she stood bouncing him lightly, just staring out of his window.<br />
<br />
***<br />
<br />
"You don't want your bacon?" His voice sounded utterly shocked as he picked up her plate to clear it away.<br />
<br />
"Oh, no thanks. I'm not hungry."<br />
<br />
"It's turkey bacon."<br />
<br />
"Mhm, I know." She nodded and smiled, letting him know everything was alright. "I'm gonna go take a shower. If Mica wakes up, there's breast milk in the refrigerator." Getting down from the stool she headed towards the door when she heard him breathe in, ready to speak. But she beat him to it.<br />
<br />
"Just sit the bottle in a cup of hot water, Max."<br />
<br />
"Got it."<br />
<br />
It seemed almost ridiculous that their baby was five months old now and Max still had no idea how to warm his milk. She shook her head angrily and muttered all the way up the stairs, the more she was in his presence the more tempted she was to leave this life and allow herself the happiness of being with the man she loved. But her fear was too overshadowing. Letting her mind go blank in the shower temporarily felt so good, the hot water falling over her body whilst she rinsed her hair. Wiping the suds from her eyes she frowned and looked around after feeling the cool air hitting her water-beaded body. Before she could anticipate it the shower door pulled open as Max stepped in.<br />
<br />
"Max, what are you doing?" Trying to cover herself a little she let her eyes follow his frame as he got closer and closer.<br />
<br />
"I'm takin' a shower with my wife." He leant down and kissed her, running his hands down her sides and bringing them to a halt once they reached her hips. "As long as she doesn''t mind?" He smiled lovingly.<br />
<br />
"No, no of course not but I'm almost done."<br />
<br />
"Good, 'cause I didn't need to shower anyway." He closed the gap between them again, pushing her gently up against the tiled wall as he drew her into another kiss, this time it was more urgent and before she knew it her tongue was wrestling his. He pulled away after only a few seconds, making her turn around. He always wanted it from behind.<br />
<br />
"Max, I d-" Her voice ceased when she felt his hand reach around and start massaging between her legs. His erection was right there, she could feel it on her back as his lips made contact with the back of her neck. His actions were sensual, loving and affectionate but there was something missing. Feeling his other hand push down gently on her lower back, she took that as her cue to bend over some more, gripping as best she could at the slippery, tiles. The moment he entered her she just wanted it to end.<br />
<br />
Of course, as soon as their shower round was over her wanted to start round two in the bedroom. He was completely spent, laying asleep next to her as she just let her mind run wild. She felt disgusting. This was exactly what she was talking about. Swapping between them was definitely not an option. She had to make a choice and soon. Her worries and thoughts stopped as soon as she heard a car rolling up the driveway, followed shortly by someone knocking at the door. Tying her robe as she rushed down the stairs she pulled her wet hair to one side, letting it drape over her right shoulder.<br />
<br />
"Just a second." She made it to the door in a fluster, only to open in and see Drake stood before her. "Aubrey, what are you doin' here?" Her voice sounded quiet and surprised, usually he'd just walk in.<br />
<br />
He scanned her appearance carefully, noticing the passion marks patterning the skin on her neck and upper chest. Marks not left by his touch. "Am I interruptin' somethin'?" Flaring his nostrils slightly he shifted before her.<br />
<br />
"No, I just got outta the shower." She pulled her gown tighter around herself feeling the cold air. "Are you gonna come in or what?" Her mouth turned into a smile but he couldn't push away the angry feelings.<br />
<br />
"I only came to get my camera." Walking past her into the house coldly he headed through to the kitchen with her following. "I'll let y'all get back to whatever you were doin' before I intruded."<br />
<br />
"Aubrey, don't be like that."<br />
<br />
"What?"<br />
<br />
"You're actin' all angry. I thought you were okay with this?" She lowered her voice and placed her hand on his arm. How was it that one simple and innocent gesture from her could calm him in an instant? That was a mystery he'd take to the grave.<br />
<br />
"I know." He sighed heavily and leant against the counter. "So, he's home then?"<br />
<br />
"He got back late last night." Crossing her arms over her chest she stood across from him and rested on the island. The fabric of her robe was pulled tight, letting him see she was bra-less. And it was cold. "How's your uncle?"<br />
<br />
"Hm? Oh yeah." He shook his head in an attempt to remove the images of her naked body from his mind. "He's fine, thanks. Just a scare."<br />
<br />
"Good."<br />
<br />
A silence fell upon them. Not an uncomfortable, screaming silence like the ones with Max. This was an empty and calm sort of quiet. One she'd only ever have with Drake.<br />
<br />
"So, you're still on for tonight?" Reaching his hand up slowly he rubbed at the back of his neck, almost as if he was nervous about asking.<br />
<br />
She paused whilst she tried to contemplate her answer. As much as she wanted to say no in order to stop this situation from getting any messier, she knew she couldn't. She was addicted.<br />
<br />
"Yeah, what time?"<br />
<br />
"Whenever you're ready." He smiled and moved over to where she was stood, trapping her between his body and the island counter top.<br />
<br />
"Aubrey." Raising her hand she placed it gently in the middle of his chest and kept him at bay. "Max is right upstairs, stop it." Pushing him away gently she moved to the kettle and pushed the button down, only hearing him sigh as she did so. She knew his patience would soon start running out.<br />
<br />
"Hey Drake, I ain't hear you get here." Both of theirs head jolted in the direction from which his voice came.<br />
<br />
"Max, I didn't know you were up." She paused and looked back to Drake as he gave Max a nod to say 'Hello'. "He just came to pick up his camera, have you seen it anywhere?"<br />
<br />
"This it?" He raised his hand, the camera resting gently in his palm. No words were spoken as Nicki's heart moved up to her throat. The fear taking over her mind. What if he'd seen what was on there?<br />
<br />
"Yeah, yeah that's it. Thanks man." Drake saved the situation from becoming awkward and took the camera, smiling back at Max as he just did the same.<br />
<br />
"No problem. Found it upstairs on the nightstand." He entered the kitchen some more and took a seat at the breakfast bar. Now the excuses began.<br />
<br />
"Yeah, he let me borrow it yesterday. I was filming Mica." Playing with her hands nervously she moved her attention back to her husband. "Your parents wanted me to send over some videos of him."<br />
<br />
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that." He chuckled lightly. "Mom got an iPhone last week anyway, we can prolly try and facetime her instead."<br />
<br />
"Oh, good. That saves me the hassle then." She folded her lips and made eye contact with Drake when Max turned his attention to the paper as he began to read. They were sharing a silent conversation with their eyes which was quickly turning into more of an argument, Drake backed down first.<br />
<br />
"Anyhow, I got a lotta shit to get on with today. Thanks for this and I'll see y'all later."<br />
<br />
"No worries."<br />
<br />
"I'll walk you out." Glancing quickly back at Max as she closed the kitchen door she felt relieved when she noticed his face was stuck back in the paper.<br />
<br />
"You left your fucking camera in our bedroom!" Her hushed yell matched her angry face as she stared him down in the front doorway.<br />
<br />
"I forgot, Nicki. Soon as I heard about my uncle I just left. I didn't think." He studied her expression as he spoke, her hand gliding up her forehead and over her hair as she exhaled.<br />
<br />
"Please, just be more careful?"<br />
<br />
"It was a one off. I'm sorry." Leaning down quickly he stole a kiss from her lips, he knew she wasn't mad anymore by the way she melted into him, kissing him back before she pulled away.<br />
<br />
"I'll see you tonight."<br />
<br />
"Lookin' forward to it." Giving her a little smirk he tapped his camera and walked backwards a few steps before turning and getting in his car. No matter how close he liked to call things and how on edge she sometimes felt because of that, she could never not want him. She bit her lip and watched him head out of the driveway, her mind wandering back to how good he made her feel. Had she just made her decision?<br />
<br />
"He still on all that filmin' shit?" He didn't even move his eyes from the paper as she re-entered the room.<br />
<br />
"It's his profession, Max. Why you gotta make it sound like some dumb fantasy he's chasin' after?" She curled her lip and splashed some milk into her coffee.<br />
<br />
"Aye, calm down. I was just askin'." He turned the page. "You workin' tonight?"<br />
<br />
"Yeah. Just a couple hours, clearin' up tables. Why?"<br />
<br />
"Y'know, you don't have to feel as though you gotta contribute to earnin' any money, Nic. Mica needs you here. I can bring home the bacon."<br />
<br />
"That's not why I work, Max." Turning to face him irritably she held her coffee cup close, sipping at it between words. "Sometimes it's just nice to step away from the 'Mommy' routine for a lil' bit. Maybe you could spend the time with our son tonight? Since you're off work."<br />
<br />
"Can't. I gotta go down to the office and sort through some papers." He folded the paper and sat it back on the counter. "But how about tomorrow night, the three of us stay home and do stuff together? Y'know, as a family?"<br />
<br />
"Really?" She looked shocked. The anger she'd initially started to feel was over-ridden by surprise.<br />
<br />
"Yeah, why not? It's been a while since we had any time together." He stood up and moved towards her.<br />
<br />
You promise you're not gonna bail last minute?"<br />
<br />
"I promise." He let his hands snake around her waist, burying his face in her neck once again. Now her mind really was beginning to feel torn. Her heart wasn't though. Her heart yearned only for Drake but right now she was trying to think of Mica and what was best for him. Unfortunately it didn't seem to be best for her.<br />
<br />
***<br />
<br />
"I'll be finished around eleven, that okay?" She looked hopeful as her Mother secured Mica in her arms and rocked him gently.<br />
<br />
"The longer I get to spend with my grandbaby, the better." She kissed his little head affectionately before smiling at her. "Just don't be working yourself too hard, Nika."<br />
<br />
"I won't." She smiled gratefully even though she felt a rush of guilt wash over her. She was pawning her own baby off on her Mother so she could go and spend some time in the bedroom with the man she was having an affair with. Thinking of it like that made her feel so small but she managed to pull herself back to the moment. "Anyway, his bottles are in his bag and his blanket is in there too. I'll call you when I finish." She leant forward and kissed her baby's head sweetly before pecking her Mother's cheek. "Thanks, Mom."<br />
<br />
"It's not a problem, Onika." She smiled and pushed her out of the door. "Now go, you're going to be late."<br />
<br />
The whole ride to Drake's apartment, her mind was trying to process all the sneaking and the lying that was occurring in order to keep this dirty little secret hidden. It could only be so long before she'd get caught up in her own web of deceit. As soon as she arrived at his apartment block she tried to run away from her mind and her conscience, speedily walking to the buzzer. He let her up immediately.<br />
<br />
"Hey, I thought you weren't gonna show for a minute."<br />
<br />
She didn't answer him as she took a seat on the bed in the basement and shrugged out of her coat. "Sorry, I had to wait 'til Max had gone to the office."<br />
<br />
"But he knows you're out, right?" He sat down next to her.<br />
<br />
"Yeah, he thinks I'm workin'."<br />
<br />
"And Mica?"<br />
<br />
"I just dropped him off with my Mom." She wasn't making eye contact, prompting him to touch her leg.<br /><br />
"Nic? You okay?"<br />
<br />
"I'm fine."<br />
<br />
"You don't seem it." He paused whilst caressing her thigh lovingly. "It's about us, isn't it?"<br />
<br />
There was a loud and ugly silence before her voice cracked. "No. It's not us, Aubrey. I just......After what nearly happened today I'ont know how much longer I can keep this up, y'know? It was okay before, it was just sex but now..." She trailed off. "It seems so much more wrong."<br />
<br />
"It's wrong for you to have shown your true feelin's?" His hand squeezed at her thigh. "Do you love me?" She nodded, but it wasn't enough. "Say it out loud. I wanna hear you say it, Nicki."<br />
<br />
"I love you." The minor hesitation didn't worry him, for she easily uttered the words.<br />
<br />
"And I love you too." He kissed her lightly and although it was small, it had so much more meaning to it than any one of Max's kisses.<br />
<br />
That light kiss soon turned into more light kisses which then somehow transpired into a violent liplock. Her hand gripping tightly at the back of his neck as she pulled him as close to her as she could. Their breathing was laboured as both of them struggled for air. He pulled away first, moving back just enough to stare into her eyes.<br />
<br />
"You sure about this then?"<br />
<br />
"Roll the tape."<br />
<br />
He didn't need to be told twice. Kissing her again he stood up and moved over to the tripod and started sorting things out. This was the first time she'd really felt nervous about any of this. She stayed sat on the bed, waiting for him to move over to her again.<br />
<br />
"You gonna get undressed?" Positioned behind the video camera he studied her closely. The want in her eyes matched his.<br />
<br />
"Not by myself." She smirked. "You undress me." He was over at the bed in a flash. Tearing her shirt up over her head and tossing the clothing to the side before resting his hands over her bra cups as he felt on her.<br />
<br />
"Damn, you look so good." Pushing her back gently he moved down to her jeans and undid them before sliding them over her thighs. He was in a rush and the way he was handling her with so much urgency was turning her on. Now laying in only her underwear she could feel the anticipation building as he played with the hem of her thong.<br />
<br />
"Please, Aubrey." She moaned out and grabbed his hand to stop it from pulling away. He knew she wanted it bad, as did he, but teasing her was too much fun. He moved his hands to rest on either side of her hips, lowering his head down slowly he used his teeth and tugged at the material covering his destination. Removing them completely with his mouth, he tossed her underwear to the side as they joined the rest of her clothes. Her bra was the last to leave her body. Hearing just how heavily she was breathing made him even more determined to give her more than he'd ever given before. Her soft moans mixed in with her panting were just the result of his hands gliding over her chest and abdomen, once again stopping when he reached the place she wanted him to go. First she'd have to be begging for it.<br />
<br />
<br />
Back at Mama Carol's house, it was the complete opposite and things were settling down for the night. Fortunately for her, Jelani and Kelise had paid her a visit to keep her company.<br />
<br />
"You sure you don't want anythin' to eat or drink?"<br />
<br />
"No we're fine thanks, Carol." Kelise smiled up at her before returning her focus to Mica who was laying fast asleep in her arms. "He's so cute. I can't believe it's been five months already. It feels like only yesterday we was vistin' him in hospital." She cooed over him and held his tiny hand up.<br />
<br />
"I know, he's grown so fast." Jelani smiled. "How's Nic doin'?"<br />
<br />
"She's doing great. She's going to be finished work in a couple hours, you should stay and say hello."<br />
<br />
"She's workin'?"<br />
<br />
"Yeah, she's down at the restaurant." As his Mother spoke Jelani looked across at Kelise and frowned. "What is it?"<br />
<br />
"Well, we just been past the restaurant and it was shut. It's been closed all day, not enough kitchen staff."<br />
<br />
"No, that can't be right. She told me she was clearing tables."<br />
<br />
"Ma, I'm tellin' you that restaurant was completely unoccupied."<br />
<br />
"He's right Carol. It looked dead in there." Kelise nodded and got to her feet. "You want me to go lay him down?"<br />
<br />
"Yes, please." Kelise took this opportunity to leave and let them talk in private.<br />
<br />
"Where in God's name is she then?" Her voice was full of panic and worry.<br />
<br />
"Look, maybe she wasn't told it was closed." He looked hopefully at her and nodded. "She might even be on her way back here now. We gotta relax a lil' bit, let her know that we have faith in her. Okay?"<br />
<br />
"I know what you're saying and I'm not trying to accuse her of anything but we have to be careful, Jelani." She widened her eyes. "I can't help but think back on all the times we almost lost her, I never want to have to see her like that again!" Carol's outburst had her close to tears as Jelani stood to comfort her.<br />
<br />
"Do you think she'd ever consider doin' somethin' that could possibly harm her child?"<br />
<br />
"She would never-"<br />
<br />
"Well, there you go then. We have to believe in her, Ma. We have to trust her."<br />
<br />

The papers and figures were becoming increasingly more difficult to concentrate on. The fury within his being was bubbling, but not yet overflowing. He was stewing on his thoughts. The disgust was riddling his mind, yet he couldn't stop replaying what he'd seen. Drake and Nicki. Under his roof. He shook his head and slammed is laptop shut. Images of <b>his</b> hands running all over her body, <b>his</b> mouth on her skin as <b>he</b> pleasured her. They just wouldn't leave him alone. But what was most infuriating to him was the fact that <b>he </b>had satisfied his wife better than he ever could.<br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Mhm....What? No, I just....I wish you'd tell me these things instead of runnin' off and leavin' me with a note, Max." She held the phone to her ear and used her hands to lay a sleeping Mica gently in his crib. "Why can't you just talk to me? Is it really that difficult?" There was silence as she listened to his excuse and left Mica's room. "Mkay....Alright, whatever. I'll talk to you later....Love you too." Hanging the phone up in a strop she threw it on to her bed and sighed.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Was that Max?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Yeah." There was a short silence. "He's comin' home tomorrow."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Tomorrow? I thought he was gon' be away for eight days?" Moving closer to her tiny frame he wrapped his arms around her from behind and rested his head on her shoulder.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Mm, I did too."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"So, what happens now?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"What do you mean?" Frowning a little she rested her hands over his as they lay around her waist still.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I mean with us, what's gon' happen?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Drake, please. I don't even know what fuckin' day it is let alone what the hell I'mma do about all of this." She pushed his hands from her and headed into the bathroom with him following.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I'm not askin' you to make a decision, you know that right?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I know you're not but I can't keep switchin' between the both of you like this. It's not fair, to anyone."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Why? We've been doin' this since before you even met Max."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"That ain't the point, Aubrey. And besides, it's different now. How many times do I have to say that?" She raised her voice a little and began to undress as he sat himself on the side of the bath tub.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"What, because we <i>voiced</i> our feelin's? Nic, that makes no difference. Those feelin's were always there and always will be." He stood up and walked over to her as she removed her shorts. "I don't know about you but I've always felt this way."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"And you know I have too-"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"So then what's the problem?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Aubrey-"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"It's just the same as before, only better." He smiled and pulled her reluctant frame closer, unclasping her bra at the same time as they once again pressed their bare chests against one another.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"How's it better? I feel like a cheatin' low life."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"You're not one of those, I promise you." Leaning down he kissed her delicately before pulling away to stare at her again. Just the way she looked at him was enticing enough, he'd never experienced anything like this before and nor had she.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I'm havin' an affair with my best friend slash fuck buddy." She smirked up at him and managed to make him smile.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Well, when you put it like that-"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Drake!" As soon as she shrieked his name and slapped his chest he couldn't restrain his laughter.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I'm just playin' Nic! But really though." He turned serious again and re-embraced her. "If Max had been a better husband, would you still be lookin' to me for affection and satisfaction?" Sweeping the hair from her face he continued to study her expression as she thought. She looked so cute and pensive.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"No, I guess not." Moving closer to him she let him envelope his arms all the way around her whilst she rested her head on his chest. "But he's such a great Father and I-"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Is he?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Yeah of course he is! Why would you even say that?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"What's he ever done with Mica?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"He pays-"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Nah." He interrupted her yet again, making her become frustrated. "So he's a good Father 'cause he pays for stuff?" He moved back to look her in the eye. "I meant what does he actually <b>do</b> with Mica that makes him such a great Father?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
That question stumped her. She honestly couldn't remember the last time Max did anything with their child. He fed him a couple times after he was born when she was too tired and maybe changed a few diapers here and there but other than that he really paid him no interest.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Nothing. I can't even remember the last time I even saw him holdin' Mica." By the small frown on her face he could tell she was only just realising how things were. Obviously with her own Dad being very absent she just assumed sticking around was the best quality in a Father. And so Max's payments and financial security made him the best Father ever in her eyes, but now things had been brought to light.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I'm not tryin' paint him in a bad way, Nic. I just need for you to see that you and Mica deserve a lot more than what he's offerin'."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
Nothing else was said as her mind slipped into a state of turmoil. She couldn't carry on like this, she'd have to choose whether she liked it or not. It wasn't so much the decision that was scaring her but the gamble that went with it. Should she stay with Max and ensure herself and Mica a struggle free life and be miserable, or should she take a chance at being happy and hope things turn out for the best? Right now, trusting on only hope was a dangerous bet she wasn't sure she was ready to make.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
***</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I can't believe you managed to talk me into this." She shook her head and unstrapped mica from his car seat. His little swimming shorts almost looking like a trousers in his tiny legs.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"It'll be fun and besides when was the last time you did this?" He stood proudly and looked out across the beach.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I don't remember and I don't want to. You had this planned."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Obviously, I had to go buy Mica some shorts." He turned around to look at them both as she stood sourly, her shades covering her angry eyes and Mica taking in these new surroundings.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Well, don't think you're takin' my baby out to sea. The bath tub is scary enough."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"He can come paddle with me, come on." He grabbed her bags and towels and let her follow as they made their way on to the sand. Honestly she was actually very happy to be out of the house and doing something with Mica but at the same time she still had that horrible nagging question at the back of her mind. Who was she going to choose? Stepping on to the sand was the best feeling to her, the last time she'd been on a beach was when her and Max first met. A long time ago, it felt good to be back.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
After choosing a spot, they set up the umbrella and lay their towels out to sit on. It wasn't super busy but there were a fair few people out enjoying the day with their kids.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"You comin' in with me?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Nope, go by yourself. We don't wanna get all wet and cold." She pulled Mica up and held him again since she'd only just managed to clean all of the sand out of his mouth. He'd once again rolled on to his belly and got stuck, eating a mouthful of sand in the process.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"What? Come on, Nic. I promise we won't go far." He stared down, giving her the face she could never say no to.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Oh my God, fine." Helping herself up on to her feet she plopped Mica's little sun hat on and held him more securely. "But we're only paddling and we're going no further than my knees." She was feeling kind of apprehensive about the fact that Mica was only five months old. He couldn't even sit up unaided let alone go off swimming.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"That's all I'm askin'." He held his hand out for her to grab and led her down to the waters edge. She hated to admit it but it did feel nice to dip her toes in and Mica obviously recognised this was a different experience since he started to kick his legs around and squawk a little.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"It's so warm, I love it." She smiled and turned to face him as he took Mica.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Has he ever been to the beach before?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Nope, this is his first time."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Well, we should prolly introduce him to the ocean then." He turned Mica around in his arms so instead of being chest to chest he was holding him with his little back to his own torso.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Aubrey, don't go too far." She felt her heart quicken as Drake began wading into the water with her baby, prompting her to follow.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"It's fine, Nic. See, he likes it." He smiled at his little legs kicking faster as soon as his toes touched the water.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Please, I don't-"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Do you trust me?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Of course I do but-"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"So it's fine then, that's all there is to it. You trust me and you know nothin's gon' happen to him." He looked in to her shaded eyes and made her relax a little. "Come on."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
She took his hand which he offered out to her and let him take them in a little further. Thankfully he stopped when the water reached just below his rib-cage. Mica's whole body was submerged though and she'd never seen him look so happy.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"He looks so goofy." She laughed when he threw his small fists up and down and hit the water excitedly before Drake let her take him. Today was something she honestly needed, some fun out with her best friend and her baby. One last day of fun before Max returned and things went back to how they were.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
The rest of the day was spent at the beach, just lounging around and going in and out of the ocean before they decided to make a move. Nicki couldn't believe how long they'd been out for, it went so fast and now here they were sat in the parked car eating ice cream. Mica was long gone, he'd fallen asleep almost two hours ago and was still out for the count in his car seat.</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"You have fun today?"</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Are you kidding? That was the most fun I've had in a long time." She smiled and licked her ice cream some more. "Thank you, Aubrey. I really needed it."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"You don't have to thank me, it was fun. I love spendin' time with you guys." Looking back at Mica he smiled. "He definitely had a fun day."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I know! I've never seen such a gummy smile." She laughed and covered her mouth politely. He could tell there was something on her mind that was bothering her and even though today helped her forget, even for just a minute, but as soon as she was home again it would be back. Before he got chance to ask, she beat him to it. "Aubrey, there's somethin' I wanna say."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Go ahead, I'm listenin'."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"It's about you and me. This thing we have." There was silence as he waited for her to continue. "I just want you to know that I really do love you and I'll still help you with your tape but I'm not ready to walk away from Max. I can't do it, I-"</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Hey." He grabbed her arms gently once he'd finished his cone. "Stop worryin' about it. I meant what I said this mornin', I'm not gon' make you choose. Max is your husband, I understand that."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"But I wanna keep what we have together." She motioned between them and looked down. "I'ont wanna lose this feeling I have but I'ont wanna risk losing everything else, y'know what I'm sayin'?"</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I get it, Nic." His voice was so soft and gentle, it always seemed to put her at ease whenever he spoke to her. "So what are you sayin'?"</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I don't even know. I guess, I wanna carry on how we were but I'm not ready to make a decision yet."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"So, nothin' changes? We stay how we were?" She nodded shyly and looked up to see the disappointment in his face. It was heart-breaking to see him so sad because of her. "I'm not gonna say no, Nicki. If this is the only way I can be with you right now then I'll take it."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I'm not sayin' that I'll never make a decision. I will, I promise I will. I just need time."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Time?"</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"To think things over."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"But you said you loved me."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I know and I'm not saying that I don't."</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Then what's makin' this decision so difficult for you?"</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I'm scared, Aubrey!" Her loud yell was followed by an even louder silence. "Beyond that, even! I'm fuckin' terrified of what might happen if things go wrong! What I might lose." She toned down her voice when she remembered Mica was sleeping, not to mention the fact that Drake looked deeply regretful about pressing her for answers.</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I know." Sighing lengthily he turned back to face forward out of the windscreen. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be pressin' you."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I just need to get things straight in my mind first." She touched his hand gently and smiled when he looked up at her. Deep down he was just praying she'd see sense and leave Max behind.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
Only a state away, quite the opposite was happening. Max had been on the phone for nearly forty minutes trying to arrange his flight home for the next evening. He was having no such luck though.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I'm sorry, sir." The young phone clerk scrolled through her computer whilst talking. "There are no flights going out tomorrow evening. The only available flights I can get you are 9:30pm this evening or 10pm and if not, the next available flights aren't 'til Thursday evening."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"So, there's absolutely none tomorrow?" Max's voice wavered with anger as he sat in the nearly empty conference room.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"No, sir."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"What's wrong?" Grant looked over at his employee and topped himself up another glass of brandy.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"They got no flights leavin' tomorrow, only tonight and Thursday." He covered the mouth piece as he answered his boss.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Take the one tonight."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Really? I thought we had another meetin' to attend tomorrow?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Yeah, we do but I can have Stan step in for you." He smiled and lit up a cigar. "Go on, go home. You earned it."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Thanks." He was slightly taken aback but wasn't about to argue himself into more work. Pulling the phone back to his mouth he let the young girl know which flight he was taking and headed back to his room to pack. More than ready to return home and start acting like the husband he should have been from the start.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
***</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Can you not do that?" She scowled and looked back at the TV sleepily. </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Why?" He asked as he continued to watch over the footage he had on his video camera whilst she lay comfortably between his legs.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"'Cause I'm tryin' to watch this." Pointing the nail file at the TV he took notice and turned the sound down on his camera as she resumed filing her nails.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"My bad."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"What are you doin' anyhow?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Just lookin' over things."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Pervin' on me you mean."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"So? Can you blame me?" He laughed and set his "baby" down on the sheets next to him before snaking his arms under hers and resting them on her abdomen.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Not really." Chuckling along with him she suddenly went silent as she trailed back into her thoughts.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"What's up?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Nothin'...I was just thinkin'."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"About?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
There was a lengthy pause before she turned to face him, kneeling between his legs.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"What you said the other day, y'know? About havin' another girl with us-"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Nicki." He rubbed her thighs soothingly. "It's fine, really. If you're not comfortable with that we don't have to do it. I don't mind."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"No, I want to do it." She was speaking quietly which only added to the time it took him to realise what she'd said. "Only if you're still up for it though."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"You honestly don't mind doin' this?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
She shook her head and leaned over him some more. "As long as you pay more attention to me."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Always." His voice hitched when he felt her tongue on his ear lobe, the shiver he experienced took his breath away momentarily as she moved down and began kissing on his neck.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"That's what I wanna hear." Speaking between kisses she soon trailed back up to his mouth and gave him one last kiss before hopping off the bed.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"You're wrong for that."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"What?" She widened her eyes innocently and shrugged some sweats on. "I gotta go feed Micapoo."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Excuses."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Whatever, come make us some food."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"What do I get in return?" He inquired curiously as he followed her down the stairs.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Did I not just agree to have a threesome?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Word? That's why you agreed? So I'd slave my ass away in your kitchen?" He couldn't help but laugh at her as she shrugged before grabbing Mica's onesy from the laundry basket.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"You'll never know." Whipping him lightly with it she headed for the stairs. "I'mma bathe him and feed him up here. Surprise me with wuchoo cook." </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
Upon reaching Mica's room she entered quietly and carried him out to the bathroom. She wanted to bathe him the instant she got home but he was still sleeping. After filling the tub to an extremely shallow level she undressed him and held him in place in the tub as she cupped handfuls of water over him. He always looked so cute when he was shocked.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Sorry baby, Mommy didn't wanna burn you though." Referring to the luke warm water she smiled down at his chubby little cheeks. Once the little amount of hair he had was washed she wrapped him in a towel and redressed him before finally sitting in the rocking chair to feed him. She enjoyed this time with him the most, it was the closest bond they'd ever share and she wanted to cherish it for as long as she could.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Nic? Can I come in?" Drake's voice startled her a little.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Yeah, course. Just leave the light off though."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
He walked in slowly, scanning Mica's blue ducky decorated room. The nightlight glowing in the corner was his only source of light, but he could still see them clearly.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"You done cookin'?" She spoke in a low whisper.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"No." Smiling weakly he mimicked her hushed voice. "But my Mom just called, my uncle's been taken into hospital."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Oh my God." She gasped quietly. "Is he okay?"</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Yeah, they think so. I'm gonna head over though, just in case."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Sure, you should go. Tell me how things are when you get chance."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"I will." He moved over and kissed her lovingly before rubbing Mica's soft hair as he fed.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"And thanks again for today, I loved it."</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
"Any time." With one last smitten smile he turned and walked away, leaving Nicki to finally think clearly about what was going on in her life.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
...</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">

<br />
Every voice in her head was screaming "No" once those words left his mouth. Everything suddenly became so scary and her body remained frozen as he continued to tend to her bloody hand. This had to stop. Now. She couldn't keep doing this to herself and knowing he felt the same way only seemed to hurt her more. It was as if her mind and heart were in a battle with one another, her heart yearning to spend every waking moment with him and let their love lead somewhere but her mind on the other hand was pulling her away from him. She couldn't deal with any heartbreak he might cause her. At least with Max she had security. Her marriage was one of the pillars supporting her sobriety and if that was to crumble she feared what would follow. Her mind was quickly winning this battle, but would it win the war?<br />
<br />
"Nicki, say somethin'. Please?" He rubbed his head nervously, still in shock after he'd told her he loved her. She hadn't said a word in almost three minutes, an eternity in his thoughts.<br />
<br />
"I don't know what you want me to say, Aubrey." Although she was completely panicked she seemed calm, almost as if she'd been waiting for this moment.<br />
<br />
"Say it back, Nicki. I know you feel the same way."<br />
<br />
"But I don't though. And I never will." She sniffled and removed her hand out of his grip. "I'm married, Aubrey. This thing between us has only ever been sex. It always will be." The shake in her voice showed her dishonesty.<br />
<br />
"You're lyin', what about that night when we were shootin' for the tape a couple weeks back? You remember that? 'Cause I sure as hell do."<br />
<br />
Her eyes flicked violently across his, trying to read his emotions. She had forgotten all about that evening, tried her best to block it out even. "I was just caught up in the moment, I shouldn't have said it."<br />
<br />
"I don't believe you."<br />
<br />
"Well, I'm tellin' the truth." Quickly glancing down at her lap she frowned harshly and pushed her chair back before moving over to the sink, the tears no longer being held back.<br />
<br />
"I heard what you said, Nicki. Over and over and over again." She jumped slightly when he spoke, his mouth right next to her ear whilst he stood closely behind her.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">The tape was still rolling, catching their intimacy in the dim light of his basement. The bedsheets became more and more crinkled and unkempt as their bodies moved against one another, the passion could be felt in the room but neither would acknowledge it. Nicki wasn't sure if it was the glass of wine she had or her genuine feelings coming though but she couldn't pull her gaze from his face. He was sat upright, staring into her eyes as she rocked back and forth on him. Every breath and whimper she let escape her mouth was given just for him and he was accepting them with each stroke. Completely blocking out the video camera's existence they both continued to maintain their eye contact with one another. Neither had ever experienced an emotional connection as powerful as this one. Her hands slung carelessly around his neck and his on her hips. He loved when she took control.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Aubrey." She called out in a whispered moan and tightened her grip around his neck. Only now was she aware of the tear rolling down her face.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">He gripped her hips more tightly and pulled her closer, her breasts pressed firmly to his chest. He could feel her heart beating. "It's okay."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"No." Moaning out more loudly she began to rock a little faster, her nose less than a centimetre away from his. Their eyes still locked into a stare. "I-I lo-"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Fuck." He groaned throatily, interrupting her as he started moving her hips faster with his own hands.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"I love you." She allowed her hands to fall to the sides of his neck, resting her thumbs on his cheeks. Her fingers grazing the skin below behind ear lobes. "I love you." Saying it a little quieter she whimpered again feeling herself getting closer to climaxing. She repeated it over and over again as her body was sent into overdrive, the hot wave of pleasure crashing over her whilst she continued to whisper out those three words.</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"Now, tell me it meant somethin'." There was only silence filling the empty space. "Look me in the eye and say it, Nicki." Firmly gripping at her arms he turned her around to face him. She was crying hard and although it hurt him to see her like this, he needed to hear her say it.<br />
<br />
"I can't."<br />
<br />
"Yes you can." He leant in to her, his alluring eyes pulling her back to that moment. "Say it." She shook her head slowly, only stopping when she felt his hands on her damp cheeks. The breath caught in her throat almost immediately when he grazed his lips across hers. The tingly feeling was intense enough to pull a soft whimper from her as he ended the kiss. Their first kiss. It seemed weird that they had been intimate more times than either could count yet this was only just their first kiss.<br />
<br />
It was as if there was no turning back from then on. There was no way in Hell she could walk away from what he was initiating. Her heart was beginning to take the lead in this internal battle, silencing her mind instantly as she stared into his face again. She made the next move, pulling him into an urgent and passionate kiss. Their tongues wrestling with one another as things started to get heated, making the little space between them disappear as their bodies pressed together.<br />
<br />
Breaking the kiss for air she panted heavily, studying his lips before focusing her attention on his eyes. "I love you."<br />
<br />
Nothing was said for a moment, but his voice relaxed her when he finally did speak. "I love you too."<br />
<br />
***<br />
<br />
Remaining motionless under the sheets Nicki continued to stare at his muscular back as she lay behind him, biting her lip whilst her mind wandered. She couldn't believe she'd let it happen again. But this time it was different. This time it wasn't just sex. They made love. A corny phrase she never imagined she'd say but that's exactly what it was. A long night of love-making, stopping to eat and deal with Mica once Carol dropped him off of course, but once he was fed and settled in his crib for the night, they returned back to the guest bedroom and continued where they left off.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Her focus was snatched immediately away from his sleeping figure when she heard Mica's cries. Another early morning for them. He'd got into a horrible habit of waking earlier than usual and it was starting to take its toll on her. Blinking slowly she yawned and carefully climbed out of the bed. They never usually slept together after they'd had sex and it felt weird having actually spent the night with him. But she liked it. A lot. Her thoughts began to filter through all of their encounters in her mind as she made her way to Mica's room. The most distinct memory being their first.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"What?" She smiled quizzically at him and stopped painting her nails to hand him the joint. She'd felt his eyes on her the moment she entered the room in only a towel. Her hair dripping down her back whilst she leant forward to reach her feet.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Nothin'."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Mkay." Squinting back at him she went back to painting her nails a hot pink colour. "Y'know, Chantelle's been givin' you the glad eye for the longest time, right?"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Who?" He sat forward on her bed and pushed her pillow off of his lap, exhaling the smoke casually by her window. Silently thanking God her parents were out of town for the weekend.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Chantelle, she's in my drama class?" She looked up to see his face deep in thought.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Doesn't ring a bell."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Well, whatever. She likes you."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"So?" He passed the joint back to her and lay back on her bed</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"So, Aubrey, you should go talk to her. Ask her out." She spoke matter of factly and moved on to her right foot. He was watching her multitasking, quite remarkably might he add.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"That's like me tellin' you to go ask Eddie out. Would you?"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Why you bein' so difficult? She's a sweet girl, you're a sweet guy and she likes you."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"I'ont like her though."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Boy, you just told me you couldn't remember who she was." She laughed when she saw a smile creep across his face. She was copying him until something finally crossed her mind. "Actually, I ain't ever seen you with a girlfriend."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Sure you have."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"No, I haven't." Quickly screwing the lid on her nail polish she tightened her towel around herself and shuffled over to him. "Budge." Poking his thigh for him to move she took a seat on the edge of the bed once he'd made space for her.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Nic, I see where this is goin' and honestly you can just stop right there." He took the joint from her once again.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Aubrey."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Nicki."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Aubrey, serioulsy, tell me the name of your last girlfriend!" Her giggle made him smile. "I'm your best friend, I would know if you'd had a girlfriend before. Just like you know I've only ever had one boyfriend." She blinked slowly, the marijuana already having an effect on her dainty frame.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"I'm not discussin' this with you right now." He laughed and remained laying on his back whilst she stared down at him.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Why not?"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"That's like you talkin' 'bout your boy issues with me. You wouldn't feel comfortable with that, would you?" Shaking his head with a small smirk he blew the smoke up into her face, she just ignored his actions and wafted it away.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Well, if I ever had like, a super huge issue that I needed to talk to someone about I'd wanna feel like I could talk to you about it." She looked down and shrugged a little, her eyes glazing over. "So I guessed you'd feel the same I s'pose." He watched her as she studied her newly painted nails, the courage was finally building up inside of him. His admittance soon to be heard.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Nicki..." He trailed off hesitantly. "I've never had a girlfriend before." Full of shame, he avoided her stare. At seventeen years old he found this the most humiliating thing. It wasn't as if nobody was interested though, because they were. But being too afraid to put himself out there he'd never asked a girl out and nor had a girl ever summoned the bravery to approach him either.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Really?" She rotated some more to meet his eyes, taking the blunt from him and ashing it out in the tray on her side table.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Really."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"But you said-"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"I know what I said, Nicki." He rubbed his head embarrassedly. "I just talk shit in fronna the guys 'cause it's embarrassin'."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Aubrey, you don't have to be embarrassed. Plenty of girls like you." He carried on avoiding her gaze before she started talking again. "Is that why you're afraid-"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"To ask a girl out? Yeah." He finished off her sentence. Something they frequently did. "I never done it before, let alone..." He trailed off. "Y'know?"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">She answered more quietly, being sensitive to his embarrassment. "Had sex?"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Yeah." Their curent state was loosening them up a little, sometimes a good thing. Sometimes not.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Well, neither have I." He knew she was trying to make him feel better but he honestly felt as though he would never get out of this rut. Never be able to overcome his fear.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"But it's different for girls though."</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Why is it?" Her brows pushed together waiting for an answer.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"I'onno, it just is." Finishing his measly sentence with a deep sigh he lay back again. Next to him, Nicki's mind was racing with thoughts but she was desperately trying to dismiss them all. This was going to take all of her courage and to do that she'd have to push her fear to the back of her mind.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">Letting her eyes scan over him she found herself stuck on his face. He looked so despondent and that's when she realised how much this was bothering him. Thinking about it now she only just connected this with his recent down and miserable behaviour, she just figured it was stuff to do with his Dad not issues concerning his virginity. Feeling the bed move slightly Drake snapped out of his thoughts and looked back to Nicki after hearing her exhale shakily. He felt her hand wrap around his, securely pulling it towards herself.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Nicki wha-" He sat up instantly when she pressed their hands on to her upper thigh. He didn't pull away from the warm, smooth touch though. "What are you doing?" She folded her lips momentarily and just continued to stare at him. Her eyes and face told him all he needed to know but he shook his head dismissively. "Nicki, we can't-" He cut himself off once again when she let her towel drop down, sat naked before him in all her glory. The silence was almost overwhelming but he couldn't for the life of him tear his eyes away. Instead he let them roam every inch of her exposed skin, he didn't care that she was watching nervously. Unwrapping her hand from his she lay it on top and guided it, encouraging him to feel her. As soon as he started gliding his palm up and down her thigh she began breathing more calmly. The most intimidating part was over, actually initiating the contact. She had no idea what she was doing and nor did he.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">The more she melted into his touch the more daring he got, soon adding in a second hand on her other thigh before moving his right hand to the side of her stomach. Gripping at her side gently as he ran his thumb over the skin on her abdomen. Their eyes met when he proceeded to go higher, grazing his fingertips over the soft flesh of her breast. This was new to both of them, it was like blind leading the blind which is exactly why it was the prefect opportunity. The pair of them being so inexperienced took away that intimidating feeling, not to mention the fact that they knew each other so well. It felt safe.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"You're sure?" He spoke quietly, his hand still lingering beneath the fleshy part of her chest.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">Pulling the towel away from herself completely she breathed out to relax some more and threw the fabric to the floor. "Positive." Trying to calm herself was proving to be pointless, for with each pressure filled squeeze he gave her she began to feel more and more breathy. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">This new kind of physical contact they were sharing was extremely weird at first, but she was actually starting to enjoy it. Understandably his confidence peaked when he noticed this too. Taking in every part of her face. Her parted lips, her flushed cheeks and her half closed eyes staring at him with want as she breathed slowly but heavily. Suddenly feeling his trousers tighten he looked down at his crotch, making her do the same. He knew she could definitely see it. Glancing back up at her swiftly he lost his nerve and pulled his hand away. This was wrong. She was his best friend. Although they were both affected by the joint they'd so happily shared, he still new this was crossing a boundary.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"What's wrong?"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Nicki, this is weird, we can't." He stood up and went to grab her towel from the floor. "It's not you, I just don't want things to be strange between us." Turning back to hand her towel to her he stopped when he caught her looking directly at his erection. It was still very much present and now level with her eyes.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Why stop now? You've already seen me naked." She peered down at herself before returning her stare to his crotch. "I showed you mine, now you show me yours."</span><br />

...<br />
<br />
Okay, as you can probably tell, this chapter was WAAAAAY out of my comfort zone, like, beyond that and I was close to not posting lol but I did it anyway. Also you prolly already guessed but when the text is white it's a flashback :))*</div>

That night Drake felt as though he hadn't had a minute of sleep. His mind was overdosing on thoughts of her and what happened in the hallway. The look on her face was a look he'd been dreaming of seeing for the longest time. Since they young, experimental teens. Honestly, he'd always been drawn to her. Just her smile and warm presence was enough but combine those with her humor, intelligence and looks and you have what he would call the perfect woman. The kiss itself was minuscule and to others would mean nothing, but to him it was everything. His thoughts soon transformed into dreams and before he knew it an overwhelming feeling of someones eyes on him disturbed his pleasant slumber. It was Nicki.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Draaake." She smiled as her whisper stirred him. She'd climbed ever so skilfully on to his bed and was sat directly behind him as he lay on his side. Not getting a very energetic response from him she frowned harshly and crawled closer to his body before prodding him. "Aubrey? Are you sleeping?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Mmm."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She smirked and got on to her knees before leaning over him, pushing the camera up to his face. "Aubrey, wake up." The way she sang her sentence hit his ears more forcefully, waking him up in a matter of seconds.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Hm? Wha-" He stopped quickly and squinted at the sunlight before pushing the camera away from his face. "What are you doin'?" The sleep layering his words was heavy.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"I'm seein' how you like havin' a camera pushed up in your face. How's it feel?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Annoying. I just woke up, you don't really wanna put that thing to work already. Do you?" He rolled on to his back as she lay down next to him on her side.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"No. I'm not about to do <i><b>anything</b> </i>with you in Max's house. So, kill those thoughts sir."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"So what you doin' with Cammy then?" He snatched the black camera from her hands and focused it on her face. She was so perfect.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"I was just playin' with it. Is that okay with you? Mr Possessive." Raising her brows she smiled and looked him straight in the eye. She always drew him in with that stare. That smile.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"I got no problem with you playin' with my tools. Play all you want." He started laughing when her face showed that she knew where that sentence was headed.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"You're so wrong." Shaking her head, she tried to hold in her laughter. He was still filming her. "As if you don't care? You were always yellin' and cussin' at me for usin' your stuff in college and school."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"I was not."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Yes you were." She made her voice go higher. "Remember that time I used your pen?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Yeah, you broke the lid and chewed all the end up, Onika." Her face scrunched up cutely as she tried to deny the accusations.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"It was an ugly pen."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"It was a gift from my Grandmother."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"It was still ugly, Aubrey."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Yeah it was but that ain't the point. No wonder I never liked you takin' my stuff." He smiled at her dimples showing and sat himself up some more on his elbows. Her attention was soon drawn to his toned torso as she licked her lips inadvertently. "I saw that."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"What?" She blushed and looked up at him quickly.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"You lookin' at me like I'm somethin' to eat."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Cocky ass." She smiled harder when he returned the expression but soon enough her smile faded. "Can I ask you somethin'?" Looking up at him shyly she continued to ignore the camera. She'd grown so used to it being on her she learned to block it out.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Sure. I'm listenin'." He could see the words trying to come together in her mind but they were invisble to his eye. Changing her mind last minute she spoke up unsurely.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Do you think Max still loves me?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Nic, of course he still loves you." He moved closer to her as she looked down sadly. Her real question was pushed far to the back of her mind. "You're the mother of his child and his wife. Why would you think he doesn't love you anymore?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"See that's exactly my point, I feel like he's only with me because of that." She paused for second. "He hardly touches me anymore. If it wasn't for Mica he prolly woulda left me ages ago." She blinked multiple times, trying to hold back her tears. She wasn't making this up, it was something that often plagued her mind. Everyday in fact but only now talking about it brought a sudden rush of emotions over her. "And I try so hard to keep things on track but it's like he's not even interested, like he can't even stand looking at me." The barrier had come down and the tears were slowly trailing down her face. He hated seeing her like this. It broke him up inside.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Nicki, look at me." He put the camera down and held her hands. "You need to stop punishing yourself. Obviously you and Max are just goin' through a rough patch right now but you have to know he loves you, he's a lucky guy and I honestly think he has no idea just how lucky he is." He wiped away a tear staining her cheek and continued as she stared into his face. "You're beautiful, smart, loving and any guy would be blessed to have you in their life. Yeah?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She sniffled and looked down to his chest for a moment. "You really mean that?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"That's the God honest truth, Onika. You're perfect, don't let anybody ever tell you any different." He sighed at the amount of truth in his words before pulling her to him. The way she fit into his arms and against his body was almost unbelievably perfect. Like they belonged. He felt a strong sense of protection overcome him when she inhaled his scent and sighed contently before snuggling into his embrace some more.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Thank you."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Aye, no problem." He kissed the top of her head and cleared his throat. "Where's the little one at?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"My Mom called 'round early, she wanted to take him out for the day. I miss him."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Nic, he's been gone what? A couple hours?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"I know." She laughed into his bare chest. "But he's the only company I have, 'cept for you."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"He better company than I am?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Mhm. He requires less attention. He doesn't make as much mess and most of all he doesn't have any smart ass answers like you do."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Oh, word? So you won't mind if I leave right now?" He motioned to detach her from him and stand up but she gripped on tighter.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Nooo! Please, I was just messin'." Chuckling softly she refused to let him go.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Good 'cause I'm all outta food at my place. What's cookin'?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Seriously? You're so lazy. I'm not cooking by myself. Come help me."She sat up and grabbed the camera, turning it on quickly and pointing it at him. "Tell Cammy what we're doin'." She sat back on her legs and folded her lips as she studied his body on the digital camera screen. She loved how he looked when he woke up in the morning.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"We're cooking."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Cooking what?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"I'on know, whattya want?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Bacon."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Well then, looks like bacon's on the menu." He looked directly into the camera and smiled mischievously. "And if Nika's lucky I might throw in somethin' a lil' extra for afters."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Oh? And what might that be?" She kept on talking to his image on the screen rather than his actual being before locking eyes with him.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"If I told you it wouldn't be a surprise now, would it?"<br />
<br />
"I don't like surprises."<br />
<br />
"If you guess, then technically I wouldn't be tellin' you." He smirked and got out of the bed, pulling at the front of his briefs. Giving her the perfect view of his ass shortly before he turned to give her a frontal shot.<br />
<br />
"Are you taking me out?" Her face was the picture of curiosity.<br />
<br />
"Maybe. Maybe not." Shrugging off her question he pulled a pair of basketball shorts from the the dresser drawer and slipped them on quickly. "You want me to take you out? When was the last time Max took you out?" He furrowed his brow and moved back over to her. Staring intently at her face and ignoring the camera just as she did.<br />
<br />
"Before I was even pregnant. He took us to this restaurant for our anniversary." She widened her eyes and looked down whilst giving him a small shrug. "So you're taking me out?" The little grin she displayed made him chuckle.<br />
<br />
"If you wanna go out, I'll take you out. Where you wanna go?"<br />
<br />
"Anywhere. I don't care I just wanna have some attention." She pouted and focused the camera some more.<br />
<br />
"I give you plenty of attention."<br />
<br />
"Not that kind of attention, fool." Dead facing him she soon started to giggle feeling his hands on her knees.<br />
<br />
"I thought you liked that kind of attention."<br />
<br />
"Mmm, I do." His hands moved further up to her thighs, making her lean back some more to keep him in the camera's view. In all the times they'd been in front of the camera he always filmed. It was his project so why shouldn't he? But seeing her handle the piece of technology gave him a little idea. Rubbing on the insides of her soft legs he let his fingertips creep up under the hem of her cotton shorts as she let out a blissful exhale. She was resting on her elbows, still trying to keep the camera on him as he touched all over her legs. Feeling his lips on her inner thigh seemed to wipe away any doubts she might have had at that moment. All she wanted now was for him to make her feel special. To make her feel loved. He moved down her legs all the way to her pink fluffy bed socks before he pulled them off and moved his kisses back up to her thighs, his eyes never once leaving the lens of the camera. Her breathing had become a little more heavy and exaggerated as he started slowly sliding her shorts down.<br />
<br />
"You're not wearin' any panties?"<br />
<br />
"No. You woulda just ripped them off anyways. You have no manners, Mr Graham." She spoke with exasperation whilst lifting her hips slightly, allowing him to fully remove the clothing from her bottom half. He spread her legs gently and began kissing on either side of her pussy before placing a soft peck on her other set of lips. The small, hungry whimper she let out made him harden and her feet had now taken their place of rest on his shoulders, ready for what he was about to do. Even mentally preparing wasn't enough for her. The instant he let his tongue make contact with her sweet folds she struggled to maintain her moans and keep a firm grip on the camera. He was showing her no mercy, sucking hard in between flicking his tongue in turns up and down and side to side. She felt her eyes shutting and she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth feeling the surge of pleasure rising within herself. It felt so good, she wanted it to last but knew he'd have her cumming in a matter of seconds, especially if he kept this tongue action up. All the while he continued to eat her pussy like he'd never done so before, her moans and the way she called his name were arousing him more and more. He needed her around him.<br />
<br />
Speeding up his movement he tried something he was sure would have her exploding all over his face, taking her clit into his mouth he sucked hard and moved his head side to side and just as he thought, her moans intensified and soon sounded more like short, high pitched screams before she came. He had no idea how but when he removed his face from between her legs he saw she still had the camera pointing down at him and she'd miraculously managed to stay upright on her elbows. She was trying hard to recover and get her breathing straight as she stared at him passionately. He knew that look. Crawling over the top of her he forced her to move back and lay in the middle of the bed before taking the camera from her. Usually he'd have it set up on a tripod but obviously he didn't have one with him so decided to try something new.<br />
<br />
"Take my shorts off." He leant on one elbow as he held the camera with the other. Watching her lean down to do what he ordered. Once she was done she lay back down and ran her hands up and down his sides. "Now take you shirt off."<br />
<br />
***<br />
<br />
She was still laying on her front, totally spent after he had her on her hands an knees until she couldn't hold herself up anymore. The shaking of her legs and arms was too much to bear and she only just managed, with his help, to stay in position before he pulled out and came on her back. He was still laying next to her, only he wasn't laying on his front.<br />
<br />
"Listen, Nicki I need to talk to you 'bout somthin' and I want you to tell me honestly how you feel, 'kay?"<br />
<br />
"Mmkay, what is is?" She wrinkled her brow and continued to stare at the side of his face.<br />
<br />
"It's about the tape actually."<br />
<br />
"Okay, go ahead." She moved on to her side and kept her eyes on him.<br />
<br />
"Well, some of the things I had in mind require for some extra things."<br />
<br />
"Like, what kinda things, Drake?"<br />
<br />
He blinked and tried to gather his sentence. He was evidently worrying about how to approach whatever it was he wanted to say. "Well, for starters I need for someone else to be handlin' the camera whilst we.....Y'know? And secondly I was thinkin' about maybe bringin' in another girl I've been seein' for a while." There was complete silence once he'd said his piece. Now she knew why he was so touchy about asking, he already knew how she was going to react. And he was right.<br />
<br />
"Wait a second, so you're tellin' me that not only do you want some other dude to be in the room whilst we get it on but you want us to have a threesome? Are you fucking kidding me with this shit?!" She moved away from him angrily and snatched her tank top from the floor along with her shorts and threw them on swiftly.<br />
<br />
"Nicki, would you just stop for a minute?" He followed closely behind her after slipping back into his shorts, she was making her way to the kitchen. Her temper flaring the more he spoke.<br />
<br />
"Stop for what, Drake? So you can tell me how much this project means to you and guilt me into doin' somethin' I'm not comfortable with?" She shook he head. "I can't do that, I'm sorry. Go find some other bitch that'll drop her panties for you. Maybe the girl you had lined up for that threesome." She spat fiercely and began pulling out pans and pots to make dinner. She hated that. Sometimes when she was with him she'd end up wasting her whole day just doing nothing and loving every second of being with him and before she knew it the night was upon them again.<br />
<br />
"Seriously? You're upset 'cause I suggested havin' another girl with us?" He hadn't given up following her and was now leaning against the island in the kitchen, watching her as she slammed the utensils around.<br />
<br />
"I'm not supposed to be upset about that?" she squinted. "Do what you want, it's your film, your career and your choice. I'ont give a fuck, Aubrey. But what I won't be doing is havin' you sexin' up some other girl whilst we're in the same fuckin' bed!" She became quiet almost immediately when she realised what she'd said. His facial expression told her he'd caught it as well.<br />
<br />
"So that's what this is all about, Nicki? You're jealous?"<br />
<br />
"I never said that, you're twisting my words." Quickly turning around she proceeded to start cutting the vegetables. Forcing the tears back until she felt his hand over hers on the knife. "Why didn't you tell me about her?" His face scrunched up angrily at how she was changing the subject.<br />
<br />
"Tell you about who?!"<br />
<br />
"The girl, Aubrey! The one you been seein' for a while!" She put air quotes around her sentence, repeating what he'd said upstairs. "You never once mentioned to me about this girlfriend of yours!"<br />
<br />
"I just didn't think it was that important! So what? I been sleepin' with a girl I'm seein'! We only share a sexual link, remember? It's not cheating and besides, what does it matter if I was? You're still fucking married, Onika!"<br />
<br />
"Don't turn this around on me! You knew I was married when we got into this so don't you dare fucking play that card!" She slammed her hand down quickly but hissed when she felt the knife blade cut into the skin on her palm.<br />
<br />
"See, this is where your fuckin' temper gets you!" He sighed frustratedly and shook his head. "C'mere."<br />
<br />
"Don't! I can handle it myself." She snatched her arm away from him but he ignored her angry mouth and took her hand firmly into his before running it under the tap. It was a fairly deep cut, indicating just how roughly she must have slammed her hand down. She'd given up protesting and sobbed silently, facing away from him whilst he carried on rinsing her cut.<br />
<br />
"There, keep it elevated while I go find somethin' to cover it with. Where's you first aid kit?"<br />
<br />
"Cupboard next to the refrigerator." Her voice was low and solemn. He returned within seconds clutching the green bag before rummaging through it and finding what he needed.<br />
<br />
"Come sit down." After pulling a chair out for her he sat on the one next to her and brought her hand closer to himself as he cleaned it with antiseptic and started wrapping the bandage around the wound. She remained quiet.<br />
<br />
"That hurts."<br />
<br />
"I need to put pressure on it to stop the bleedin', so it's gonna hurt." She never responded. "Nicki, what the hell is goin' on with you right now?" The atmosphere was still full of tension but the yells and screams had stopped, bringing an element of peace and calmness to their situation.<br />
<br />
"You can't figure it out from everythin' I said just before?" She was trying to drop hints but he was annoyingly oblivious.<br />
<br />
"You feel unwanted and unloved. But you can't see it."<br />
<br />
"See what?" She looked fed up at this point, like she thought he was about to spin a lie to keep her happy.<br />
<br />
"How much you mean to <b>me</b>."<br />
<br />
"I'm your best friend, okay I get that but sometimes I-"<br />
<br />
"I see you as more than a best friend, Onika." The silence sounded so loud as he kept up with his bandaging. He wasn't looking at her but he knew she was speechless.<br />
<br />
...<br />
<br />
*Thanks so much for all the previous comments, hope this was okay, I know it was a little boring but it'll lead somewhere...I think haha*</div>

Delusional DrakeShe sat still after re-buttoning her shirt, perched on the edge of the couch. Her mind was still trying to decipher why he wouldn't kiss her, she made it as clear as she could. Holding his face with both hands and gently nudging her nose against his yet he refused without words, only continuing to stroke in and out of her at an overwhelming pace before moving his face to her neck. There it remained until they both climaxed. Still sat on the edge of the couch she was waiting for him to start speaking like nothing had happened, like he always did. She couldn't be angry at him for that though, she did it too.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"What time's this dinner thing?" He finally spoke after pulling his shirt back over his head.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Six. Why? You ready to go now?" Standing up she turned to look down at him. She'd never really taken the time to admire the way he looked. Of course it was obvious he was blessed in the appearance department but she hadn't properly studied his complexion, until now.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Well, it's nearin' that time." He pulled his eyes away from his watch and starting pulling his shoes on. "We could make a move, I guess. Is Mica ready?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"I'll go get him sorted." Tugging her shirt back into place she made her way upstairs, finally giving him space to think without her trying to read his face. He knew what she wanted but he just couldn't do it, as soon as his lips would have touched hers he just knew he wouldn't be able to cage up his feelings as well as he was now. Their relationship had already been slightly damaged by the using of one another for sex and letting his feelings out at a time like this would be destructive. Especially for Nicki. If only he could reach into her mind and see what she really wanted.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Clicking in each button on his babygro she gently picked him back up again, his grumpy whimpers becoming more distinct as she made her way back downstairs. Thankfully his stroller had dried off since he'd probably be laying asleep in it for the whole dinner. She honestly wasn't even sure what this dinner was for, she'd heard of actual wedding rehearsals but a dinner rehearsal? What was there to rehearse for at a dinner? She shook her head and positioned herself in the lounge room doorway. Drake was still sat silently. He was never this quiet after they'd pleased one another. In fact it was always the opposite, almost as if he would try and compensate by talking endlessly to try and get their minds on to other topics.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Drake?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Hm?" He turned around quickly before smiling. "You ready?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Yeah, hopefully he'll nod off again in the car." Keeping her focus on Mica she could avoid his gaze. "You think you could deal with the stroller? I parked a few houses down. There were no spaces."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Sure." Standing up he grabbed his wallet from the coffee table. "You go on ahead, here are your keys." Placing them in her hand he watched her head for the front door. "I just gotta make sure everythin's locked, I'll catch you up." She swiped Mica's blanket from his stroller and wrapped it around him before she entered the cold outside air. He fell asleep within minutes on the walk to her car, his tiny head resting gently under her chin. At least she wouldn't have to be worrying about trying to keep a five month old quiet in the restaurant now.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
***</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"No that's the one I didn't like!" She laughed with a scrunched up face remembering the distinct taste of garlic shrimp.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
"Really? I thought it tasted so good." Looking back at the TV he carried on smiling before looking back at her. He'd kindly offered to stay the night at hers since Max was away and she was worried about being home alone with Mica. Not to mention he could use the company as well. The rehearsal dinner went well but Mica's grouchy wails called for an early departure, thankfully Nicki managed to calm him and the touchy tot was fast asleep in his crib.<br />
<br />
"What?" Her random question snapped him out of this thoughts as she continued to look at him, trying to work out what was going on in his head.<br />
<br />
"Nothin' I was just thinkin' 'bout how happy your brother looked today."<br />
<br />
"I know! That grin did not leave his face for the whole meal!" She grinned widely. "I'm happy for him though."<br />
<br />
"Yeah." He agreed happily before the smile slowly faded. "I want that one day."<br />
<br />
"You mean what Lani has?"<br />
<br />
"And you and Max. Sometimes I feel like I'm being left in the dust a lil' bit y'know? Everyone's off havin' kids and gettin' married, where am I?" The clear misery was obvious in his voice.<br />
<br />
"You're on your way to becoming something great." She licked her lips and studied the side of his face before intertwining their hands. "You'll have that too one day. Maybe not right now, but one day."<br />
<br />
"I'mma take your word on that." He laughed as she patted his hand, which was still wrapped around hers. As she looked down, the sight before her triggered a memory from only weeks ago.<br />
<br />
"Remember when you came to see me after I had Mica? How mean you were?"<br />
<br />
"I was just sayin' I thought he woulda had more hair than he did!" His wide smile made her copy him involuntarily.<br />
<br />
"Yeah but you was laughing at my bald baby!" She forced her smirk into a pout.<br />
<br />
"He's his Father's son. I was just pointin' it out."<br />
<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b><br /></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Yeah, I'm here to see Onika Samson?"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"She's in room 409 on Maternity." The woman behind the desk smiled sweetly after searching the computer for her name. "You can't miss it. The door is to the right of the elevator."</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Thanks." He nodded gratefully and headed in the direction in which he was instructed. He didn't know why but he was beginning to feel more and more nervous as he approached the elevator doors. The ride up didn't ease his growing anxiety any as he inspected the bouquet of flowers he was clutching. Why did he even bring them? What if she thought it was too much? He shook his head in response. She just had a baby, flowers should be expected. Before he got chance to spark up another question the 'ding' he heard indicated that he'd reached his designated floor. After taking a deep breath he double checked the number before entering, he'd expected to see her bed surrounded by family members cooing and smiling but it was just Nicki.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Oh my God, you made it!" Her face lit up instantly seeing his figure walk through the door before he made his way over and hugged her lightly.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Yeah, I got an early flight back just for you." Kissing her forehead he lay the flowers on her side table. "I gotchu these, I wasn't sure what to bring." The way he rubbed at his neck let her know he was nervous. She couldn't figure why though.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"I love them, thank you. There's a seat behind you, pull it over." Doing as he was asked he took a seat right by her bed as she admired the flowers next to her. "You just missed Max and everybody, they left to get showered up and stuff. They'll be back later."</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"I thought I seen'm leavin'." He smiled up at her, she looked exhausted and pale but still amazingly beautiful. "So, where is the little man?"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Right over here." She motioned to her other side and there he was. All snuggled up in a wheeled hospital crib beside her. He honestly hadn't even seen him when he entered but didn't waste any time making his way around to see the small baby. </span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"So, this is bump?"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Yes sir, in the flesh." She chuckled softly. "You can hold'm if you want?"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"You don't mind?"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Of course not! Don't be silly." Having said that she still kept a close eye on how he handled her baby but what new Mother wouldn't? Relaxing as soon as Mica was securely nestled in his arms she sat back some more and tried to read his face. "What're you thinking?"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Hm?" He looked up from the tiny infant and connected eyes with her.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"You look like you're thinking mad hard. S'on your mind?" She tilted her head and squinted a little whilst patting the side of her bed, inviting him to sit. He obliged before speaking.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Honestly?"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Yeah, talk to me." She rubbed his arm gently before moving her touch to Mica's soft head.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Your baby is bald." The amusement in his tone made her mouth drop in horrification.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"How are you abouta make fun of my baby like that?" She pouted dramatically.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"I'm sorry, but look!" He gently ran his finger over the top of Mica's head and laughed as the very few tufts of hair became stuck up. This was obviously super amusing to him but she knew that wasn't what was on his mind but a very poor attempt at side-tracking her. It didn't work though.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"You're so wrong for that. I'm waitin' for the day when he's big enough to give you an ass whoopin'." Staring sternly at him she folded her lips. "I know that ain't what's botherin' you though. I'm your best friend, Aubrey. I know somethin's up. Tell me."</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"You're too good at that. Way too good." Shaking his head he let the real issue come to light, he took his time saying it though. "I just...After you told me you didn't know who the Father was I couldn't-"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"He's Max's, don't worry." She gave him a tired, dimpled smile. Displaying her pure relief that Mica wasn't his but the uncomfortable silence made her frown. His heart honestly felt as though it shattered as he stared down at her baby. Ever since she'd told him she wasn't sure who was the Father he'd planted the idea in his head that Mica was definitely his. He didn't know why, he just had a gut feeling that things were supposed to be this way. Obviously life had other plans for him. The disappointment on his face was quite clear.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Aubrey, did you want him to be-" She was cut off suddenly by none other than Max himself as he walked through the door smiling proudly.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Hey baby, sorry I took a while." He kissed her lovingly before pulling away. "Your Mom insisted on feedin' us all before we came back."</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Don't worry about it, I knew she'd start fussin' about y'all anyway. Never mind poor old Onika sat alone in the hospital." She rolled her eyes but smiled when Drake cleared his throat. "I didn't forget you! I'm glad you came, Drake. Thank you!" She emphasised her words until his lips turned up into a smile. </span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Drake, I didn't know you were comin' in today, Nic said you were away?"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Yeah, I was." He paused and delicately handed Mica back into his Father's arms. "I caught an earlier flight, I got some stuff to sort out here."</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Well, it was nice of you to drop by." His focus never left the baby as he took Drake's previous seat in the chair by Nicki's bedside after kissing her again.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"No problem and congratulations to the both of you."</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Thanks." His focus didn't falter but Nicki's did.</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Wait, you're not leavin' already are you?"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Yeah, I got a bunch of stuff to sort out. Sorry, Nic." He moved swiftly over to her and kissed her cheek. "I'll come see you later on in the week, you'll be home by then right?"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Shit, I hope so!"</span></b><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: white;">"Aight, I'll see you later then." With a soft rub of her arm he winked and left without another word. She knew it was Max's return that had made him uncomfortable but she wished he'd stayed. She missed him.</span></b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<b><br /></b>
<b><br /></b>
"Ever since then I been wanting to ask you that question."<br />
<br />
"What question?" He looked at her with confusion.<br />
<br />
"I started askin' you somethin' and Max walked in." She shuffled towards him on the couch some more. "You wanted Mica to be yours, didn't you?" The softness in her voice wasn't accusative, nor was it angry. Just curious.<br />
<br />
"I'm not even gonna lie." He rubbed at his neck, the jitters getting the best of him. "I thought he was, I hoped he was but I guess that ain't the way it was s'posed to be, right?"<br />
<br />
"Well, yeah. Max is my husband, it'd only be right for Mica to be his child." The attitude in her words was starting to become more evident.<br />
<br />
"Look, Nicki I didn't wanna start shit so please? Just forget I said anythin'."<br />
<br />
"Okay, so let's just pretend just for a minute that Mica really was yours. Then what?"<br />
<br />
"I'onno Nic! You're takin' this too seriously! All I said was I kinda hoped that the baby you were carryin' was mine! What's wrong with wantin' a family?"<br />
<br />
"There is nothin' wrong with wanting a family, Drake. But wanting a family with a person who you ain't even romantically linked to is completely ridiculous!" She stood up quickly, grabbing their plates from the coffee table as she marched through to the kitchen and dumped them in the sink angrily.<br />
<br />
"Aren't you forgettin' somethin'?" He frowned with pure anger as he waved his finger between them.<br />
<br />
"Oh my God." She scoffed. "Seriously? You think we're romantically linked? You're fucking delusional!" She shook her head and leant against the counter before crossing her arms tightly over her chest. "The only link we share is a sexual one."<br />
<br />
"Oh really? So, all the years we've spent as best friends? That means fuck all to you?!" He inched closer to her as she sighed regretfully.<br />
<br />
"I didn't mean it like tha-"<br />
<br />
"You know what, save it. I don't need to hear any more." He stepped back and pulled away when she tried to grab his wrist. Slamming his fist loudly on the table in a moment of anger. He knew that was a selfish move, even more so when he heard Mica's faint cries.<br />
<br />
"Thanks a lot." Not even bothering to hide her tears she pushed past him roughly and marched up the stairs, leaving him to feel bad about the way he behaved. Entering his room quietly she leant over into his crib and picked him out. Cooing sweetly to him as her tears continued to roll down her cheeks. That argument had been in the making for a while, it was only a matter of time before it surfaced. She sniffled and kept on rocking Mica in her arms but he wouldn't settle. "C'mon baby, please? Mommy's tired." Reasoning with a five month old made her sound crazy but she honestly couldn't give two shits at that point. He wasn't co-operating anyway and cried even harder before she sat him upright in her arms and bounced him lightly. She felt like a true fool, the more he cried the more she struggled to control her emotions.<br />
<br />
"Let me take him, you look exhausted." Jumping at the sound of his voice she turned to look at him fiercely.<br />
<br />
"Aubrey, just go. Please?"<br />
<br />
"No. You're tired, stressed and run-down. I shouldn't have acted like such a dick, I'm sorry." Taking small steps towards her he felt terrible seeing her cry because of him. It wasn't in his nature to act cruelly towards anyone. Especially Nicki. She sniffled yet again and kept on trying to soothe her child, only coming to a standstill when she clocked Drake's outstretched arms.<br />
<br />
"I'll take him, I don't mind." He could see her decision ticking over in her mind before she slowly handed the small, screaming baby over to him.<br />
<br />
"There are bottles made up in the fridge, just microwave one 'til it's warm." Not making any sort of eye contact she kissed Mica's head and left the room quickly as the tears became harder to control. He continued to calm him as Nicki was before and watched her leave the room.<br />
<br />
Letting herself into her bedroom she shut the door swiftly, blocking out her baby's distressed mewls. Why did she feel like such a wreck after one extremely pathetic argument? It wasn't even an argument, just a harsh exchange of words. Her mind was all over the place trying to think of an answer as she started running a bath. It wouldn't cure her from feeling so down but it'd definitely take the edge off.<br />
<br />
It was a good forty-five minutes before she surfaced from her room again. At first she was alarmed because of how silent the house was but as she neared the lounge-room she could hear Drake muttering nonsense to Mica. She smiled weakly at the sight before her. He was sat comfortably on the couch with Mica resting in his arms, he was only just beginning to feed him by the looks of it. God knows what had taken him so long.<br />
<br />
"How does your Mommy do this?" He frowned at the bottle and shook it. "Damn, that's hot." Releasing the tight grip he had on the bottle he held it with his fingertips to ease the burn before taking it up to his mouth and testing the temperature himself. Stood in the doorway she couldn't help but smirk following it up with a giggle.<br />
<br />
"What are you doing?" Her small voice startled him, making him look to where she was walking towards the pair of them.<br />
<br />
"Seein' how hot it is. Why, is that not how you do it?"<br />
<br />
"I usually drip it on my wrist." She sat down next to him, still smirking a little.<br />
<br />
"What's so funny?" He smiled too, not knowing why she was looking so smug.<br />
<br />
"You do know that's my breast milk, right?" She smiled again as he stared intently at the bottle.<br />
<br />
"Well then, I guess I should compliment you. That's some pretty good stuff you got." He laughed and motioned to taste it again when she stopped him.<br />
<br />
"Stop, you're a goddamn fool." Shaking her head and grinning slightly she glanced back down at Mica as he started to become impatient again. "You want me to take him?"<br />
<br />
"Nah, I'm good. Unless of course you don't wa-"<br />
<br />
"It's fine, Aubrey. You can feed him." Leaning back into the couch she tucked her feet up and watched on as he bottle-fed her child before speaking up again. "Look, I'm sorry 'bout what I said earlier. You know I didn't mean it like that."<br />
<br />
"Don't apologise, I should be the one doin' that. I exploded for no reason, I'm sorry too." He glimpsed sideways at her and smiled. She loved when he did that, it felt like something he only ever did to her. Something that made her feel special. Having lay in the tub for so long she'd been thinking about a couple things. One which she found herself constantly wondering about.<br />
<br />
"Do you ever wonder what life would be like if things were different? If Mica really was yours?"<br />
<br />
"All the time."<br />
<br />
"How do you see it?"<br />
<br />
"It's real crazy, like, I always picture the three of us together. Just doin' normal family stuff y'know?" He became shy towards the end of his spoken dream. "But that's just what I was thinkin' when I thought he coulda been mine. Max is a lucky guy." All the while he spoke Nicki remained silent next to him, her full concentration on the words he spoke. "Why, how do you see it?"<br />
<br />
"You mean us?"<br />
<br />
"Yeah, if he was my son. How d'you think things would be?"<br />
<br />
"Honestly, I have no idea." She smiled nervously and played with the hem of her pyjama shorts. "I guess I've never really thought about it." Lying through her teeth she folded her lips and quickly changed the subject. "I'mma go make us a drink, he'll be asleep soon. When he's done give me a shout and I'll put him to bed." She talked on her way to the kitchen, feeling his eyes on her every step she took.<br />
<br />
She was right. Within twenty minutes Mica was fast asleep and she'd lay him down in his crib for the second and hopefully the last time that night. Hitting the light switch on the way out she pulled his door closed a little behind her, bumping into Drake in the hallway.<br />
<br />
"Oh, I put some fresh sheets on the bed in the guest room and the towels are by the tub." She smiled up at him momentarily. "I think I'm gonna call it a night, I feel like a zombie."<br />
<br />
"Aight and thanks, I'll see you in the mornin'." Leaning down he went to kiss her cheek as she turned, causing him to catch her lips briefly. "Sorry, I'm sorry I ain't mean to-" The worry on his face was adorable.<br />
<br />
"Don't worry about it." Glancing at her feet nervously she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, trying to hide her blushing cheeks and smitten smile. "I'll uhm, I'll just see you in the mornin' then."<br />
<br />
"Yeah. G'night, Nic." He watched her walk away, that feeling building up in his stomach was the one he feared the most.<br />

RehearsalClosing the door behind herself she took in a breath and carried on walking through to where she could hear her Mother humming. She missed the home-like feeling of her parents' house, although she couldn't argue that the house she and Max shared was horrible she preferred the cosy closeness she felt in this house. Max was hardly home anymore, not since his latest promotion. His mind and body were focused one-hundred percent on his career. That being said, he was and always would be a great Father. Extinguishing her thought trail she quickly smelt the ends of her hair and knitted jumper shoulders. Thankfully she had a change of clothes in her car, eliminating the possibility of her Mother picking up on the smell of smoke.<br />
<br />
"You're late."<br />
<br />
"I know. I'm sorry, we finished up way after closing time." She folded her lips and set her keys on the wooden table, waiting for her Mother to at least turn around and visually acknowledge her presence.<br />
<br />
"Have you eaten?"<br />
<br />
"Yeah, I grabbed somethin' on the way here. Thanks." Their brisk exchange of words didn't soften the atmosphere as Carol continued to dry the pots and pans by the sink. "Where's Mica?"<br />
<br />
"He's in the lounge room with your brother." Finally turning around to face her daughter, Carol let out a pitiful sigh. "You look exhausted."<br />
<br />
"I'm fine, really Mom. I just need to get Mica home and have an early night." Picking up her keys again she smiled as a way of saying thank you and turned to head out of the kitchen but her Mother's voice stopped her.<br />
<br />
"Are you still using?" She could tell by the way she said it that in her mind she believed she was.<br />
<br />
"What?"<br />
<br />
"Drugs, are you sti-"<br />
<br />
"I know what you meant Mom, I just can't believe you'd even question me about that. You honestly think I'd be puttin' that shit in my body when I'm still feedin' my child?" The look on Nicki's face let Carol know she was hurt, not angry.<br />
<br />
"I'm sorry. I know you'd never do anything to harm him. I just worry, that's all."<br />
<br />
"Well you don't need to." Moving forward some more she held her Mom's hand comfortingly. "I'm fine and I'm clean. I'ont ever wanna get that way again. Ever." It was easy for Carol to believe her because she could see quite obviously that she meant every word.<br />
<br />
"Okay, be safe and give Max our love."<br />
<br />
"I will." Smiling again she kissed her Mother's cheek and headed through to the lounge room, her mood automatically lifting when she set eyes on her baby. "Hey Lani."<br />
<br />
"S'up Nic, how you keepin'?" His face beamed as he stood with the five-month old in his arms.<br />
<br />
"I'm good and how's my baby?" She increased the pitch of her voice and smiled whilst reaching out for the child.<br />
<br />
"Ah, y'know? I'm okay, thanks for askin'." Laughing through the end of his sentence he handed Mica over to her as she continued to death glare him.<br />
<br />
"Not you, dumbass. I was talkin' 'bout my little man."<br />
<br />
"Oh, yeah he's alright too I guess. He's gettin' a lil' grouchy though."<br />
<br />
"Yeah, he prolly wants feedin' soon." She held him against herself more securely before looking back at her brother. "I'mma get him home, where are his things?" Looking around herself she scanned the room for his baby bag when Jelani gently placed it on her free shoulder. "Thanks, I'll see you tomorrow for the dinner rehearsal right?"<br />
<br />
"You sure will." He spoke as he followed behind her to the front door. "Oh wait, before you go could you ask Drake if he minds filimin' for us?"<br />
<br />
"What?" Her mind had ceased at that point, only thinking of what he'd recently been focusing his camera handling skills on. Sex.<br />
<br />
"The wedding, we ain't got nobody to film yet and it was the only job Kel gave me. She's gonna be rippin' if I don't get that right." He wrinkled his eyebrows worriedly. "He's aight with a camera ain't he?"<br />
<br />
"Yeah, yeah of course he is. I'm seein' him tomorrow, I'll ask him but I can't make no promises."<br />
<br />
"Oh thanks Nic, that'd be gold. You're a lifesaver, you know that?"<br />
<br />
"Whatever." Rolling her eyes playfully she continued out to the car, and dealt with Mica as Jelani watched on. He couldn't deny how proud he was of her for getting herself back on track so well. Nobody could. She was on the brink of self-destruction before she found out she was pregnant. Just knowing there was a life inside of her was enough to make her see clearly. Fourteen months later and she was alive, well and loving motherhood.<br />
<br />
<br />
She returned home to an empty house. Nothing new to her as of late so instead of dwelling on it she decided to take glory in it, she felt as though she hadn't cooked a proper meal in ages and so she did just that. It was always something Max would get worked up about since almost <i>everything </i>in his house was white and shiny and Nicki never practiced the "Clean as you Cook" method, instead she would end up with a whole kitchen full of mess. The latter description was perfect for how the room was looking at that exact moment. A filthy pig-sty. On the plus-side her cooking turned out exactly as she wanted it. Smiling to herself she swept her wet curls from her face and proceeded to clean. She'd heard Max's car enter the garage and was thanking God she'd just got out of the shower in case he could smell weed on her. She'd have to remind Drake about that tomorrow. Quickly and quietly placing the plates down she waited for him to enter the room.<br />
<br />
"Hey baby." Kissing her cheek softly he looked over the table as she greeted him back. "S'all this for?" His smile made her mimic his expression whilst he set his briefcase down and shrugged out of his coat.<br />
<br />
"Well, I thought since you've been working so hard I should treat you to a lil' somethin', why? Don't you like it?"<br />
<br />
"No, no I love the idea! And it smells good too." Having been sat with a bunch of his female colleagues today he'd absorbed some of the things they'd been saying about their own partners, only to realise he exemplified a lot of the issues they spoke of. The main one being lack of communication and affection. Both of which he was desperate to try harder with, for the sake of his marriage.<br />
<br />
"Good, take a seat then." She tied her hair back as she sashayed away from him, heavily sighing when Mica's baby monitored screeched out. "I knew I should have fed him before you got back." She pouted and faced her husband, who at this moment looked to be quite deep in thought.<br />
<br />
"Tell you what, how 'bout we stick these in the oven to keep warm, I'll go shower up and change and you can go see to Mica?" He set his napkin down and approached her from behind, wrapping his large arms around her tiny frame. That was another thing he could commend her on. How fast she got her pre-pregnancy body back, it was as if she just stepped out of the weight and went back to how she was when they met.<br />
<br />
"That sounds like a good idea to me." She giggled softly once she felt his lips on her neck. She'd missed this more than words could describe. The feeling of being loved was one that was slowly growing more and more alien to her. Pulling away from his wife he tapped her butt and disappeared up to their bathroom whilst she put their food in the oven to keep warm. She too headed up the stairs, feeling more positive than she had in a while. That feeling was strengthened when she entered Mica's dimly lit room. He was still fussing as he lay on his front with his legs kicking out behind him, visibly frustrated.<br />
<br />
"What's up grumpy?" She picked him up out of his crib and continued to talk to him as she made her way to their room, seeing as though Max was changing she thought she might as well put something more comfortable on. Laying the impatient baby in the middle of the bed she swiftly threw off her clothes and got into a pair of sweats and a grey tee before returning to her now screaming child, who had yet again rolled on to his stomach and rendered himself helpless. He could never roll back. "That's what you get for bein' so impatient sir." He settled a little once in his Mother's arms again and became completely silent when she got herself comfy resting against the headboard and finally pulled her shirt up, giving him what he wanted.<br />
<br />
That was as far as their evening got. Shortly after exiting the shower, Max had to take an important business call and upon his return he found Nicki fast asleep with Mica out for the count laying on her chest. He felt a twinge of regret knowing she'd fallen asleep waiting for him, those regretful feelings only grew stronger when he carried his tiny son back to his crib and returned back to their room to start packing. He'd been called away for a business seminar, something he couldn't miss. Kissing her gently on the forehead he left her a note, he decided to stay in a hotel for the night. His flight wasn't until the morning but he figured if he left now he could avoid getting Nicki worked up and angry over his sudden departure, he hated to admit it but sometimes he felt as though he was walking on eggshells, just waiting for her to relapse after an argument. It wasn't that he didn't have faith in her, he just didn't want to be the reason for her to spiral back into addiction. Saying goodbye to Mica, he shut his door a little behind him and left for the Hotel.<br />
<br />
***<br />
<br />
"Hey! What's with the anger?" Drake's brow furrowed as he held the door open for Nicki, she was fairly rampaging up the steps backwards trying to heave Mica's stroller up with her. He knew she was crying at that point when she let out a frustrated grunt. "Stop, take Mica out and go inside. You're soaked. I'll get the stroller." Placing his hand gently on her shoulder he watched her lift the protective rain screen and lift him out carefully before she headed through to his lounge room. It took him a minute or two to manoeuvre the damn thing into the hallway but once it was out of the rain he shut his door and breathed out heavily. He already knew this would be something Max related. It had been happening a lot lately.<br />
<br />
"I'm sorry, I know I said-"<br />
<br />
"Don't even say it, Nicki. Our friendship comes first, don't worry 'bout the tape. That can wait." He took a seat beside her as she tried to get Mica to settle. "What's happened?"<br />
<br />
"Nothing I can't deal with."<br />
<br />
"Sounds like you're dealin' with it pretty well." He smirked a little and motioned for her to hand Mica to him. "You might wanna take your jacket off, it's drenched." He let his eyes follow her frame as she got to her feet after handing her baby to him.<br />
<br />
"Why is it that I always feel as though we come second, to <i>everything</i>?" She wiped her cold nose and lay her jacket in front of his fireplace.<br />
<br />
"He's away again?"<br />
<br />
"He didn't even tell me." She sniffled and crossed her arms tightly over herself. "He left last night whilst I was sleepin' and let me know in a fucking note. A note, Drake! Who the fuck leaves their wife a <i>note </i>saying he's outta the goddamn state for eight days?!" Her yells continued to increase in volume, causing Mica to fuss even more hearing the hostility in his Mother's voice.<br />
<br />
"You're right, that is messed up but it's happened. What's yellin' gonna solve? It's not healthy for you and it isn't healthy for Mica." He kept calm as he spoke to her, witnessing her shoulders relax as she let go of her anger. As soon as she saw Mica becoming distressed she'd toned it down a little anyway but Drake's soothing tone and truthful words helped too.<br />
<br />
"Ugh, I know." Bringing her hands up to her face she wiped at her eyes tiredly. "I'ont know why I let it get to me so much I guess I just..." Her sentence died before she finished.<br />
<br />
"You guess what, Nic?" He saw her falter for a moment before answering.<br />
<br />
"Nothing, I don't know what I was gonna say to be honest." Covering her lie with a small laugh, she sniffled once again and wiped away the last of her tears. "I'm just gonna freshen up in your bathroom before I feed him."<br />
<br />
"Aight, take your time. He's goin' nowhere." He carried on bouncing the small boy as he watched her head to the bathroom. Part of him was screaming to follow her and make sure she wasn't going to do anything stupid but another part of him was begging him to trust that she wouldn't. He was relieved when she returned less than a minute later with her makeup touched up. "You good?"<br />
<br />
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Thanks." Sweeping her hair behind her ear she extended her arms to hold her son as Drake handed him to her.<br />
<br />
"How 'bout I drive us to the dinner rehearsal? I'll bring us back here and you can pick your car up then."<br />
<br />
"Or we could go in my car? Mica's seat is already strapped in."<br />
<br />
"That works too." He smiled whilst watching her sit down to feed Mica. "Sorted then."<br />
<br />
"Oh yeah, Lani wanted me to ask if you'd film on the day?" She leant back some more once Mica had latched on and began his feed.<br />
<br />
"'Course I will, he should know he doesn't need to ask." Pulling his laptop on to his knee he started working on some of the clips he'd got so far. With the volume down of course.<br />
<br />
"Don't you think it's a lil'...Weird though?" She curled her lip and wrinkled her brow slightly, waiting for his response.<br />
<br />
"Weird?"<br />
<br />
"Yeah, y'know? Everything that video camera sees us doing and you're filmin' my brother's wedding with it? I'onno, I just find it odd."<br />
<br />
"Well, I'll use my other one. That better?"<br />
<br />
"Much. Thank you." Her smiled faded as it was followed by a sigh.<br />
<br />
"S'up?"<br />
<br />
"I'm just tryin' to think of an excuse as to why Max isn't gonna be at rehearsal dinner. I told him three times to keep today free." She shook her head and looked back down at Mica, holding his little hand with her fingers as his eyes were taking longer to open with each blink.<br />
<br />
"Tellem the truth, he had an important meetin'. People'll understand, Nic. Especially your brother, we all know Max has a high-payin' job. It's no biggie."<br />
<br />
"Why d'you always know how to make me feel better?" She laughed and looked up at him, her smile was everything.<br />
<br />
"'Cause you're my best friend and I know you better than you know yourself."<br />
<br />
"Mm, sometimes I think the same thing." She carried on watching him as he clicked away at his laptop before she caught his attention with a groan. "No, baby don't go to sleep! You're not done yet!" Obviously she didn't really want to wake him, hence her whispering pleas.<br />
<br />
"You wanna lay him down upstairs? His crib is still in the spare room."<br />
<br />
"Yeah, I'll be down in a minute." Carefully getting to her feet she fixed her shirt and held him to her chest whilst carrying him to the spare room. Once she returned she joined him on the same couch. Laying back comfortably. "Whattya doin'?"<br />
<br />
"Actually, I'm working on our tape. You wanna see some?" He looked at her, his eyes full of wonder as she contemplated her answer. On some level she really did want to watch but then again the whole illegality of it in her mind was making her want to keep her eyes innocent to their sexual encounters. But for this moment, she was far too intrigued to say no.<br />
<br />
"Press play." She kept her eyes locked on to his before he broke contact and turned to the screen, pressing play without hesitating. Almost instantly their recorded moans and pants of pleasure broke through the speakers. As for what they were seeing, Nicki couldn't believe her eyes. Was that really her? The angles and lighting worked to their advantage, emphasising their most admirable parts. Not being one to brag she was finding it hard not to admit that she looked out of this world. And Drake? He was having some sort of effect on her, not just in the video. Feeling him shift next to her she looked at the side of his head. His focus was directed purely on the video, the breath caught in his throat as he re-lived that moment. Watching her reach her climax through his actions.<br />
<br />
"Damn." He mumbled the word out, discreetly grabbing at the growing bulge in his pants. He was beginning to feel as though this was a bad idea but sensing Nicki moving closer to him he turned to face her. Flinching a little when he felt her hand rest between his legs as she rubbed firmly at his imprisoned erection. It was obvious that they were both holding back, thinking of an excuse to make what they were doing seem right.<br />
<br />
"We could count it as rehearsal?" Her breathless and stilted whisper answered their unspoken thoughts and threw him into overdrive before he roughly started unbuttoning her shirt. Both finding what they sought after in each other. Just as they always did.<br />

More Than A Muse?Laying in the middle of the bed she let her head tilt back as the pleasure started to overcome her. Although the sight before him was both insanely distracting and arousing he attempted to keep his focus.<br />
<br />
"Arch your back some more."<br />
<br />
"Like this?" She moaned at the same time as complying with his order.<br />
<br />
"Mhm, just like that. Keep doin' that." He smiled and adjusted himself whilst he moved the tripod across the concrete floor. "Turn to face me." Watching her move her head slightly, he directed the lens and zoomed in on her naked body.<br />
<br />
"That better?"<br />
<br />
"Perfect."<br />
<br />
"How long 'til you come join me?" She shut her eyes slowly and breathed out feeling the effects of her teasing fingertips on herself.<br />
<br />
"By the looks of it, not long. Keep goin' baby." Drake stepped away from the camera and rubbed himself as he continued to stare at her. The mewls escaping her lips were making him grow harder beneath the fabric of his pants. "Damn Nicki, you look so good."<br />
<br />
"Oh God." She moaned out loudly.<br />
<br />
"You almost there?" He asked seductively through a smile as he walked over to her. The movement of her hand had doubled in speed as she played with herself, her left hand making contact with her nipple whilst she brought her own body closer and closer to the brink of climax. Writhing around, trying to avoid her own touch as her toes curled and her knees remained raised and parted from one another.<br />
<br />
"Mmmyeaah! I'm-" She stopped in order to groan. "I'm gonna cum!" Her brows were pushed together and her body tensed up in a state of pure ecstasy as a hot wave of pleasure began to wash over her trembling frame.<br />
<br />
"Hold on Nicki, I don't want you to cum yet." He quickly moved over to the tripod and removed his camera from the straps before taking it over to her. She'd slowed down considerably and her breath was heavy but more controlled.<br />
<br />
"I couldn't stop it, I tri-"<br />
<br />
"Shh, it's okay." He smiled down at her panting body. "Gimme your hand."<br />
<br />
"This one?" She smirked breathlessly knowing he meant the right one as he reached for it and licked off all traces of her sweet bodily fluids from her fingers.<br />
<br />
"You taste so good." Shuffling closer to her spent body he trailed the camera up and down the length of her torso as she stretched her arms up above her head and lay them on the mattress lazily.<br />
<br />
"You gon' finish off what I started?"<br />
<br />
"You know it." Moving over the top of her he steadied himself on one arm, focusing the camera on her face.<br />
<br />
"Don't." She frowned harshly and pushed the lens away from her well defined and glowing features.<br />
<br />
"Don't what?"<br />
<br />
"Stop pushin' it in my face like that. I'ont like it."<br />
<br />
"Why not? You got a beautiful face." He stared down at her as she looked up at his glazed and reddned eyes.<br />
<br />
"Turn it off." The tone of her voice let him know she wasn't playing. Doing as she said he turned it off and stopped filming before setting it on the sheets next to her head.<br />
<br />
"Need a lil' somethin' to get you goin'?"<br />
<br />
"No. I already told you I can't do that shit anymore."<br />
<br />
"You wanna do this another time then?" He made sure to get the concern in his voice across to her and was thankful when she nodded. "Aight, I'll go get us somethin' to eat." Pushing himself up off of her he put away his equiptment and left her to get dressed. She just sat for a while as her head started to spin. This had gone way too far. Letting the sheets fall from her grip she stood up and took her naked self to bathroom and showered before re-dressing and joing Drake back upstairs. He was sat as if everything was normal, watching TV with a plate in his lap.<br />
<br />
"Yours is in the kitchen." Turning back and looking at her he smiled. She really was beautiful.<br />
<br />
"Thanks." She trapsed through and dished her takeout on to a plate before returning to the lounge and taking a seat on the armchair opposite him. He'd already noticed there was something wrong.<br />
<br />
"You okay?"<br />
<br />
"I can't do this anymore, Drake." She tried to avoid his glazed eyes as she peered down at the rice on her plate, which suddenly didn't look so delicious anymore.<br />
<br />
"You mean the whole tape thing?"<br />
<br />
"Everything!" Her loud answer was responded to with silence as he sat forward and pulled a plastic bag from his pant pocket. "Seriously? I'm sat here trynna tell you what's up and you're just gonna act like I'm not speakin' and get high?" She scoffed dramatically and threw her plate on to the coffee table between them. He didn't even flinch. "Fuck this shit!" Upon reaching the doorway she felt his strong grip on her wrist.<br />
<br />
"Don't go."<br />
<br />
"Why?" She yelled as she snatched her hand from his grasp. "I can't do this anymore Aubrey, it's completely fucked up!"<br />
<br />
"You're my best friend, please stay?" Even though his eyes were glossy, red and halfway shut she couldn't ignore her friend's plea.<br />
<br />
"That's exactly why it's so messed up. You're my friend, not my husband or my boyfriend or even an ex! You're like my brother and we're fucking around for this project of yours? It's so wrong." She softened her voice, listening to the facts spoken aloud made it sound even worse. <br />
<br />
"What's wrong with us?" He asked miserably and ran his hand roughly over his face before slumping on to the arm of the chair.<br />
<br />
"There's nothing wrong with us, babe. Just what we're doing." Sitting herself next to him she reconnected their hands and pulled the bag of marijuana from him. <br />
<br />
They'd been best friends for years, nothing more and nothing less. As late teens however, they continued to find themselves in lust of one another. The sexual tension was too great to ignore, so they chose not to ignore it and now as young adults they still seemed to fall into the same situations. Only now it was different. Their circumstances had taken a sickening turn, which Nicki blamed on their occasional experimentation of various drugs and the project Drake was working on. A tape compiled of various sexual acts performed in his basement, all in the name of his erotic film-making debut. When he asked Nicki he never imagined she'd say yes but getting the answer he sought after, he didn't question her. Their little secret had become more difficult to hide when Nicki experienced a pregnancy scare and her husband started to notice marks on her. Marks of passion that weren't from his touch. The physical relationship they shared was one neither could explain. Only that it was as torturous as an addiction. Both loved the feeling the other gave them but at the same time it had damaging effects and no matter how hard they tried to call it quits, one would always fall weak at the knees and relapse. This was no love affair though and that's what scared Nicki so much. It was pure lust that pulled them together. Or so they thought. Could it be that it was love disguised as lust? Strong and undamagable feelings warped by their fear of acknowledging the blatantly obvious?<br />
<br />
"Nicki?"<br />
<br />
"What?" She turned to look at him, the confusion evident in her stunningly brown eyes.<br />
<br />
"I asked you if Max knew you was here?"<br />
<br />
"Are you kidding me? No. He doesn't." She sighed sadly and looked down. She was deeply ashamed of her infidelity but had Max been a more admirable husband maybe she wouldn't look elsewhere for satisfaction and better yet, affection. She recieved both of those when she was with Drake but she'd never experienced the feeling of being loved. Only the love her Mother had for her and the love her baby boy had for her. But never love from a man. Her encounters with Drake were purely sexual, he'd occasionally kiss on her neck and other areas of her body but their lips had never been locked in whirl of passion. Not even a peck.<br />
<br />
"You think he suspects somethin'?" <br />
<br />
"No, he hardly notices my existence anyway." She trailed off feeling herself becoming emotional. "Look I left Mica with my Mom, I better go." She stood up quickly so as not to let him witness her in such a vulnerable state. He had of course seen her like that but only on his terms and never emotionally vulnerable, like she was now.<br />
<br />
"I'll see you tomorrow?" He spoke to her back as she clung to his apartment door. She desperately wanted to say no but who was she kidding? She knew just as well as he did that she couldn't stay away.<br />
<br />
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow."<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
To be continued....Maybe...<br />
